To Kindness, Christmas really was the most wonderful time of the year. The shopping lines could be madness at times, but overall, it was the giving, the wanting to make others happy that shone through. Modern Christmas could be criticized so, but at its core, it was about love and happiness. And it was those two things together that made her heart flutter so.
The apartment was beautifully decorated, from the tree to the wreath hanging from the front door. In her excitement, she'd decorated the balcony, too, with holly and lights so that anyone who chose to look up could lose their breath at the sight. Decorating alone was fun, but not nearly as fun as when with her sister.
Temperance had always been good to her. Virtues couldn't be anything but good to one another and others, but all the kind words, all of the encouragement-- she was practically at her happiest. Kindness would never choose any of her siblings before the other, but Temperance often came first when deciding on something. She was the closest to her, not only in physical proximity, but emotionally. Her sister meant everything to her.
That was why she'd picked out what she hoped was something Temperance would like, and tucked it under the Christmas tree. The gifts for the rest of her siblings lay next to it, wrapped in her professional hand, decorated with bows and ribbon and labels dictating who the gift was for. Giving to her family meant very much to her, and so she'd put much thought into their gifts. She knew, without a doubt, that they would love whatever she gave to them, but nevertheless, she searched her mind for the perfect gift.
Standing at the tree, the Virtue, wrapped all in white, set to work rearranging a couple of the ornaments, tree top included (an angel, one she'd kept for many years). It wasn't that the tree was lacking anything, or even needed rearranging. Kindness simply felt the need to be productive, to do something. All of this Christmas spirit gave her joy and hope, and it filled her with an energy she never had at any other time of the year.
Oh, Christmas. She adored it so.
