His kind words made her smile. "Thank you," she murmured. "And that's exactly what I thought. As soon as I stepped off that plane, it felt like coming home. Like that was where I was supposed to be."
She took the seat across from him, adding milk and sugar to her own cup. "Do you really think we could?" she asked, trying not to sound too hopeful. "Because that would make me feel so much better. Even if it is just a mask, at least it's the one I chose."
