Charity had been carrying groceries to a local church when the two men cornered her. They wanted her money and Charity apologised as she handed it over for having so little. She asked if they'd instead like the shopping she had. Something about her voice seemed to make them think she was mocking them and one of them lost his calm.
Ten minutes later she was sore and bleeding on the ground, her face and body aching. After a long while she pulled herself up to sit and then to stand, pushing he hair back off her face. The groceries were ruined and thrown everywhere, but Charity tried to gather them up. Something in her chest hurt too much to do it though, and she didn't know what that meant. Had she broken a rib?
Raphael. That was where she should go. She made her way to the hospital he worked at, being given a ride by a man who spotted her and freaked out.
Charity limped to the front desk and smiled at the woman there, who looked concerned. "Hello, I'm afraid I don't have an appointment, but could you see if Dr Toby Fisher could come see me for a moment. We're friends."
The girl looked unsure but then put a call through to his office and Charity sat down to wait for however long it took.
