It was a welcome surprise so he let her. He was more and more certain he'd need to continue this. He'd just been so assured everything was as it ought to be.
When they arrived he was glad to know the area wasn't totally ruined, and led her to the little patch where the stars were brightest. "You can't see them very well from the city." He wasn't too fond of the open sky (a lifetime of living underground had gotten him a bit of agoraphobia) but he ignored it for her. "I know this isn't as grand as the dinner, but I hope you still like it."
