Zoe let out a muffled sound of protest when he put the duct tape over her mouth, her eyes going wide and were literally shiny because of the tears swimming in them as she stared at him.
She went still as she listened. Yes, true, in his own bizarre way he was trying. But Zoe couldn't help it. She could be greedy too and sometimes she wanted more from him. It just hurt when she knew she wouldn't get it. She could take a step back like now to look at the situation for how it was, who he was, what this was... but it didn't make the want go away.
She sat there with the duct tape still on her mouth, looking at him. She knew how hard it was trying to keep something from the only people that were your family. She hadn't told Gabe about Greed because she wanted to keep him too. And she remembered how Greed had talked about the only people he had in his life were his siblings.
But when he talked about being forced to make her she pried off the duct tape from her mouth and let the blanket fall in her lap. She suddenly cupped his face in the palms of her hands and brought him in to her for a kiss. It wasn't particularly deep or long but it'd make his stomach drop like he was in a fun elevator ride because of the typhoon of emotions breaking inside her. They both could use a reminder of what they had. And whenever she kissed him, she did feel something that wasn't in her imagination.. if this was entirely not real then where did it come from?
She pulled back and looked in his eyes, "I'm sorry I went out after I promised you I wouldn't. I would never break a promise unless it was important. And this was. But you can't make me listen to you. Just like I can't make you not shoot people. You have to trust me or just be there to protect me all the time." she didn't mean that last bit, she was just being wry.
