Guilt was gnawing at Pippa's stomach in a way that she really hadn't felt before. There were things that kept it away - a visit from Glam, starchy food comas, booze. Lots of booze. She felt guilty for introducing Raiden into Kumori's world, and felt partly responsible for what happened there. She was also nervous around Kumori, though she tried her hardest to hide it. She was never very comfortable around old gods. They annoyed her, to be honest, throwing their weight around and generally causing trouble...she wasn't sure why she thought Kumori would be any different. No boundaries on that one. She didn't know why she was so surprised.
She made sure to keep Raiden away from her apartment and away from any isolated areas. A busy restaurant, while not the best place to deliver this kind of news, was a perfect shield from anything worse happening. It was going to take some mending to get her to be comfortable around the cat again, but she understood the tenuous boundaries.
She sat quietly at a back table, sipping on a water with lemon and waiting for Raiden. She just hoped nothing like this would happen again. She wasn't sure she could have this conversation twice.
