Ligea probably ran into more people and stepped on more toes than she usually did, but that wasn't important. She pushed through the crowd, using the heel of her shoe to jab a college boy in the thigh when he tried to stop her so he could chat her up. She didn't have time for that right now.
The crowd finally thinned out, and she spotted a pale woman with dark hair, positively radiating Greek. She didn't look all that different from the last time Ligea had seen her, but that had been a long time ago, and it made her heart clench a tiny bit. She picked up her pace, heels clicking sharply on the pier and bright hair streaming behind her as she walked as fast her legs could carry her.
"Mom?" she asked softly, hopefully, as she came to a stop.
