Charles clenched his jaw when she spoke of defilement. He knew her stories, but she was here now, sitting beside him. Her air of innocence and sweetness made him ache to think of her being afraid or harmed in any way. He didn't know why he had grown so incredibly fond of Cassandra and so quickly too, but he did know that as it stood now, he would fight for her if he had to. And he was terrible at fighting.
