The night had become Eurydice's haven. The only time in which she felt comfortable enough to show her face. It was also the only time when she didn't have to protect her eyes from blinding lights, even if she still had to adjust to some. It was hardly as bad as the sun had become.
Tonight was like most other nights when she headed to work. Most days she had little reason to leave her apartment, so she was happy to only work a few nights a week. Dressed in scrubs, hair pulled back, she walked the remainder of the way from the subway to the hospital. Although, she hadn't expected to meet anyone on the way. Sure, there were plenty of immortals in this city and she had been fortunate enough not to have any bad encounters but she knew to be wary of the ones she felt at night. You simply never knew who it might be, and she had absolutely no desire to meet a Di Nocti.
Her pace slowed a fraction, just enough to glance around. She took little time to look because frankly, she didn't want to find out who it was. Only that little voice that spoke Perhaps it's Orpheus that made her slow down and look.
