Who: Poseidon, Amphitrite and Zeus What:Lets try this again! Zeus comes to lay down the law! Epic fights ahead! When: Wednesday night, June 22nd Where: Poseidon's penthouse Warning: Language, maiming, blooooood, electrifying fights of epic proportions, death [ooc: I'm closing tonight/opening tomorrow so putting this up while I can and or not too tired!]
The penthouse stood high on a hill looking down on the bay below. It wasn't the crisp clean ocean air, but it was still a waterfront view. He looked out the window from the bedroom as he tried on the custom made suit that had arrived earlier that day for the Greek affair the following weekend.
He straightened the lapels of the jacket, the fit perfect against his tall form. Now that he'd put his weight back on, he didn't look like a sickly sea god. Buckling the belt that held the pinstripe trousers they made him loom even more as he stood tall catching a glimpse in the mirror.
He knew he was cutting it close until Amphitrite showed, which had been his intention. Perseus would not sneak off with her and take her affections from him. He was the almighty Poseidon, and he could easily kill him next time.
[info]sea_born 2011-06-21 05:39 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Amphitrite was slowly coming to accept the idea of letting Poseidon completely in her life again. Their last conversation had been more flirtatious than it had been in what felt like ages. And then it all went tumbling down because of something she'd remembered. She was now angry at him for laying a hand on Perseus. First she would confront him in person and then she'd turn right around and go check on Perseus.
Because Amphitrite actually cared about people.
That he would dare meddle in her personal life was not only sickening but hypocritical. Yes, she had been made the jealous wife but what else could she have done? Amphitrite had stayed faithful and caring, giving her entire self to Poseidon only for him to turn around and throw it all away.
It's all his fault, the ass, she thought stubbornly. The only reason she'd agreed to see him again was because there was that little light of opportunity that she would be able to have her husband and have the other man who had treated her with care.
She rang the doorbell. She hated this place. It was full of memories she'd rather forget about. It was where they'd had hundreds, possibly thousands of fights. It was her cage. Everything about it made her feel sick. And Poseidon had no idea. He'd rather keep the material possession than try and win Amphitrite back by showing her he could just as easily let go of something so unimportant.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-21 06:05 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Poseidon didn't want her to have another man. It left a sick feeling inside because he knew what he couldn't offer someone else would give and she really would be just the mantle piece she didn't want to be.
At the sound at the door he headed down the stairs to let her in. He knew she hated this place, it was why he wanted her to meet him. His own jab. She didn't know yet he'd put it on the market to sell.
"She shows," he said with a flirtatious smirk.

[info]sea_born 2011-06-21 06:53 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select The only good part about an argument was it being over. At least, that's how Amphitrite felt because she knew well enough this would only end up being just that. She didn't often go out looking for trouble and she had lived long enough to learn what not to say and what would cause the most pain. This visit wasn't intentionally to harm Poseidon, but by the gods if he didn't comply to her wants that would be it. She wouldn't give a damn if it meant an enemy for life, because let's face it she more than likely had a few anyway.
This time she was hesitant in stepping inside, but his remark and that little smirk of his made her almost scowl in return. "This isn't a date, Poseidon. you didn't have to get all dolled up," she said in response, looking him up and down. "It looked better in the picture." An innocent little smile.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-22 02:14 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He brushed a hand against the expensive and well-fitted suit. "Thought I'd let you in on what you're missing," he gave a small quirked smile, a dark chuckle following her obvious jab.
Though she'd showed, there was still a road block between them. If he gave her the free will to have Perseus as she wanted, then what was he to her? Perseus was just some half-brained demi-god of Zeus. He could not bend his mind to accept another man having her for himself. Which left him one and only one option.
To give her all of himself.
Unless he let her go wholly this time for the sake of her own happiness. That was another option that would destroy him. There would be no turning back if they went that route. She once stood beside him as a proud and fiery Queen. Divorce wasn't even fathomable, whether he let her go or not. There were some rules that would always be set in place. He couldn't let her beat him completely.

[info]sea_born 2011-06-22 01:33 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Ah, so that was your plan all along. Thought by dressing as a penguin you'd lure me in." She patted his shoulder as she passed him. "Good plan," she said mockingly.
She didn't go much farther than the hall, only stopping short of the living room. If all he was going to do was show off a suit she'd make sure this was a quick trip.
"You know why I'm here. Let's just get the fighting over with now so I can leave and get in a better mood. First off, if you ever lay a hand on Perseus again I will personally stab you to death in your sleep. And you know I don't make empty threats. Second, have you made your decision?"

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-22 04:14 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select His mood altered almost immediately. Even if didn't lash at her physically, his face spoke for him. "You should have known the answer to that question before asking it," he sighed heavily bracing a hand on the wall, running his other hand across his face.
He turned to face her then, blue eyes more hurt than angry. "What is he to you?" He shook his head though those words were like venom in his mouth. "I get it," he moved from off the wall facing her within a few inches, stepping forward until he loomed over her. His hand reached out softly stroking her cheek. "You want him no matter what my decision is. Don't you?" Did some half-brained demi-god come first to her now? Had Eros done more damage then a few days fling.
It hurt. It hurt greater than any rejection he'd ever had because now there was the possibility that she held no more love or even hate for him. He had nothing to grasp.
"And if I give you myself?" his voice a whisper as that was not an easy promise to make. He wasn't sure he was willing yet. Or if giving her up would show her what she really meant. He would not be her husband in name only.

[info]sea_born 2011-06-22 05:52 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select It was true. Amphitrite already knew the answer. There was no turning back now. She had to hear it from him. If he decided to surprise her with a difference response then it was very possible things could work for them.
She made no movement to retreat from his touch. It was a silent way of saying she wouldn't leave him. Not yet anyway. "He's important to me. I care for him." She wasn't about to go into detail. But then she frowned, "There you are giving me no credit again. I care for you just as I have for years. I may be angry with you but that doesn't mean I don't care for you any less. It's the very reason I'm so conflicted with you. You treat me one way and then tell me something completely contradictory. Of course I have my reservations, but whatever you decide is what determines what happens between us."
She stared at him with consideration. "If you gave me all of you that would mean giving me exactly what I've been asking for for centuries," her voice quiet but no less truthful.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-22 08:44 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select It was here that Thetis' words sprung up to haunt him. His brows creased heavily, shaking his head. He wouldn't be defeated by Amphitrite, giving in to a promise that belonged to a man better suited. There were things that Poseidon could never change, that were so ingrained he was beyond this better husband she wanted. Part of him also didn't want to change because it meant losing face. He was once powerful, men feared him, and now he wasn't even half of that. The Greeks were not in their prime anymore.
His hand left her face, hand balling up. Letting go of yourself was a commitment, and Poseidon knew he failed on commitments. Especially to Amphitrite. Letting her have what she deserved at the risk of losing himself, that was an even harder step. It was still an answer he couldn't give her right now.
His hand still stayed on her cheek. "That's not an easy promise." his hand cupped around the back of her head, pulling her cheek to cheek.
"He can't give you that fire," he whispered, "but..." if that's what you want, then he would drag the rest of the world down with him with his black heart.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-23 04:47 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus would not let Poseidon get away with hurting his little boy. In truth, he should have dealt with the errant sea-god long ago, but part of why Poseidon was acting so unruly was because Zeus himself had sent Ate for him. Zeus had expected Poseidon to make bad business decisions because of Ate's influence. Not this.
Zeus arrived at Poseidon's penthouse, stalking directly past the doorman who simply looked perplexed and decided not to follow. Zeus went up to the highest floor and then he slammed his fists into Poseidon's door. If the sea-god didn't open it, he would burst right through, but he wanted to save his energy.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-23 05:46 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select At the sound against the door Poseidon's head turned in an irritated fashion. He growled dropping his hands to Amphitrite's shoulders and moving her out of the way see about the commotion, leaving her at a safe distance. He could feel that power before ever opening the door for his baby brother. Just like Zeus to ruin the party.
"Why Zeus, nice of you to drop by," he said through gritted teeth. "This really isn't the time." Famous last words.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-23 05:53 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus didn't care what time it was. He waited until the door closed behind him, and then he aimed an uppercut right at Poseidon's chin.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-23 06:23 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Poseidon didn't even have time to dodge that hit, though he should have been expecting it. He could taste blood swimming around in his mouth, as his back hit the wall causing it to crack against his weight.
He spit out the vile taste, not quite the sweet ichor or golden color as it had been in ancient times. Poseidon laughed running a hand against his mouth and wiping off the fluid.
"Is this your golden invitation to your party?" He didn't give Zeus a chance to swing again throwing back a punch just as hard, and near rocked the ground with him as his fist slammed into Zeus' face.
"Care to talk first or are we just swinging fists for the hell of it?" He knew why.

[info]sea_born 2011-06-23 01:09 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Amphitrite had been on the verge of smacking Poseidon and telling him what a gigantic ass he was being. He was blowing this whole thing. He could have her back if he really wanted to, but he was completely and utterly blowing it. And then they received their unexpected guest.
Amphitrite had protected being shuffled away. She had every right to see Zeus if she wanted; she had been invited to that party of his and Hera's. He was her brother-in-law! Before she had the chance to greet him Zeus's fist had made contact with Poseidon's chin and she let out a little scream of surprise and covered her mouth as she retreated further into the upstairs hallway. She wasn't about to get into the middle of this. She stayed perched just at the edge of the hall and stared down at what was happening below her.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-23 03:24 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus stumbled back, regaining his balance before he fell. Then he stared Poseidon down, rolling up his sleeves to bare his arms. "You aren't coming to the party," he said, as if this was some kind of terrible insult. Then he charged forward again, fists at the ready.
Poseidon loosened the tie from around his neck and tossed it down along with the custom jacket, being sure to take his time as if he were stalling Zeus' patience. "Oh?" he said perking a brow, rolling up his own sleeves.
"Why's that little brother?" he laughed again, "I got the rsvp," grin, "and a new suit. Are you telling me I can't wear it now?" He seemed so overly disappointed as he teased his younger brother.
This time the ground did move under his feet as he motioned his hands for Zeus to take the first shot. "Come on big guy, what's the special occasion? We don't just fight like this for the hell of it."

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-24 08:29 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "You hurt my son," Zeus hissed at Poseidon, as if he actually cared for more than a handful of them. He charged then, all fists and rage.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-24 09:50 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "And he deserved it," Possidon hissed that anger fueling him as he deflected hits and took others. In Poseidon's mind Perseus having Amphitrite was equal to Zeus himself. His kid, his loins, but Poseidon's wife. "He's yours, that was reason enough!"
If Zeus thought fist fighting was going to hold them through Poseidon would up the game a little. The penthouse already looked a wreck, cracks, bends and broken. The water outside the bay crashed against the shore, luring out at Poseidon's silent command. If Zeus really wanted to play, then Poseidon would start throwing the real punches.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-24 09:57 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus really wanted to play. He grabbed his brother's collar, slamming him up against a wall which groaned in complaint. "You are not to touch anything that is mine!" Zeus growled, hitting Poseidon in the face again.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-24 08:24 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Neither are you!" he spat back, "your boy, your loins, my wife," his face curled in disgust just before Zeus hit throwing blood around inside his mouth. He spit it out, pushing Zeus with his foot in the gut.
Their forces were nearly equal even now without quite the power of old days. Poseidon had to admit, this made him a little giddy. The water still ripped against the shore banging against the rocks hard with a force as loud as the swing of Zeus' fist.
"Why don't we take this outside," he gestured after throwing another hard hit to Zeus' nose. Then they could pull out the big guns.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-26 12:51 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus wondered how they would get outside. Would they break up a fight and ride the elevator down? Zeus would rather punch Poseidon in the face now rather than wait.
"You have been a disappointment to your king for centuries!" he yelled, slamming his fists into Poseidon's face again.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-26 05:52 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "You're ruining my decor!" Poseidon jabbed. Amphitrite was still inside and with the way he was making the ground shake he wanted her at a safer distance. They had already destroyed a good half of the lower deck and so far they were just throwing punches. Zeus was giving his face the worst break hed seen in centuries.
"Zeus come on now," he taunted "this is a bit of a letdown. Lets pull out the real artiliary." Poseidon knocked Zeus back to the wall with a hit to his side. Heavy jabs to his face middle and even gong to knock him off his feet.
With one glance back to Amphitrite, Poseidon gave her a look somewhere between knowing and loss. He was already using a lot of energy. He made his way outside. Zeus would follow if he wanted to make it count, and he was greeted by a wall of water when he did.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-06-30 12:42 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus climbed back to his feet and he glowered at Poseidon, striding forward out onto the balcony. Poseidon had water to throw at him, sure. But Zeus was Zeus, and while he may not have been as strong as he once was, he was still the king in his own mind.
Zeus planned to throw Poseidon right over the side of the balcony as he charged forward.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-06-30 02:57 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select It threw him back alright, shoving him against the metal bars, the water rushing forward from the bay to give him some leverage. He wasn't going to go down like that, the force bending and breaking those bars back.
The water blocked Zeus again and acted as a cushion for Poseidon as he fell to the ground. He stumbled to get up, weighted down by his own water and losing his energy fast with that kind of play, but he wasn't about to show it.

[info]storm_bringer 2011-07-02 06:50 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Zeus had the high ground for the moment, and he planned to use it. The metal bars were left twisted like some grotesque ribcage. Zeus stepped forward and he ripped one of the metal bars from it's base.
In the past he had hurled thunderbolts at people. Now all he had was a sad little metal bar, but the idea was the same. Zeus pulled his arm back and then he let the metal fly, aiming straight for Poseidon's chest.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-07-02 12:09 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select As soon as that twisted metal bar shot through the veil of water it struck Zeus' target, lodging itself in his chest from one end and out the other. The pressure was intense, crushing his bones and flinging him back onto the ground. The water fell pooling around him and sliding back to toward the bay.
He had but mere seconds and no chance for a retaliating hit, his waters were too far from him. The ground trembled with an eerie groan as if mourning herself for the fallen king.

[info]sea_born 2011-07-03 03:35 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Amphitrite had remained in her "hiding spot" (which wasn't much of one to begin with) and watched the scene unfold below her. It was when the rod went through Poseidon's chest that time seemed to move more slowly and she made a desperate attempt to scramble from where she had fallen to her knees.
The combination of water and lightning would not harm her from there and it wasn't until she could see Poseidon's chest rise and fall for the last time that she reached the bottom of the stairs and standing on that last step she stared with devastation at the unmoving body. Practically panting, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her right out the front door. She did not wish to be a target, even if Zeus' anger didn't seem to be directed at her; that could change in an instant. She said nothing to him, she just ran.
