Who: Poseidon, Eupheme, Philophrosyne When: Monday afternoon, January 16, 2011 Where: Poseidon's office What: Two Kharites jr decide to go visit Great-Uncle Warnings: Possible language, EXCESSIVE CHEER, so much happy it may be dangerous, TBD Notes: Kind of went ahead and set this up. Hope it's okay!
Eupheme had met up with her sister first. It had led to a lot of hugging, 'how-are-you's', catching up and their usual cheery conversation. Two Kharites together, even weaker as they were, still instilled their attributes in others. So mortals walked away feeling praised and friendlier at the same time. It made for a New York that was a fraction more cheery then usual.
She'd laced her arm through Philo's as they walked to their Great-Uncle's office building talking about everything and nothing. Eupheme wasn't naive though. She'd heard the stories and she was cautious. But he was family. Family she hadn't met, and wanted to meet. This didn't mean she didn't have their father on speed-dial and a can of mace in her purse however. She was Praise, not childish enough to think she wasn't just pretty enough to attract attention from her Great-Uncles.
With a smile she walked into the office, Philo alongside her, and went up to the secretary giving her usual beaming smile. "Hello!" she remembered the name her Uncle had given Philo, which was good otherwise this would be awkward. "We're here to see Dorian, is he terribly busy?"
(Post a new comment) It's totally okay! [info]neptune_storm 2011-01-17 02:02 am UTC (link) DeleteTrack This By mid afternoon Poseidon's office had been cleared of his thrashed temper from the Friday before. The walls needed a new coat of paint, but that would be taken care of on another day.
He had forgotten about Eupheme's little 'family reunion', though his souvenirs from Hawaii were at his disposal should she show. He wouldn't be prepared for the duo's upbeat personality, it fact it was almost disturbing that anyone in their pantheon should be that cheerful.
When they showed he was on the phone, making orders and cursing at the other line. His secretary poked her head to the side to look through the glass door. She looked back over to the girls wondering if he'd been conducting interviews again. She looked through the scheduling block and didn't see any time allotted. "Did you make an appointment with Mr. Rubis?" she asked, bright green eyes looking up, somewhat threatened as if she was being replaced.
(Reply to this)(Thread) Look at me mispell her name [info]friendlyone 2011-01-17 04:01 pm UTC (link) Track This Philophrosyne was ready to make this day all about Eupheme and catching up, but at the prospect of meeting a family member neither of them had ever met in person she didn't mind the change in plans. She was excited to tag along, though she didn't feel at all like that's what she was doing. She hardly ever felt out of place and wherever she went she always loved how others left feeling in a better mood.
She too smiled brightly at the secretary, looking around at the decorations and noting something here and there that she liked. At the woman's question she looked to Eupheme, not knowing the answer. From the looks of it she hadn't made an appointment. "We're his nieces," she explained cheerfully.
She peered through the glass door to his office, though couldn't see anything that well. Though she could hear him on his phone. "He's got a temper," she mumbled to Eupheme.
(Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) They are difficult names XD [info]praise_worthy 2011-01-17 04:12 pm UTC (link) Track This She hadn't because she'd honestly expected to just walk in, say hello and then catch up. Now, she realized she should have. But he was family, the whole concept of making an appointment to see family was just...weird.
She nodded along with Philo, "I just got back from out of town, and I heard he was back from vacation and we haven't caught up in forever. I'm sorry that I didn't make an appointment, and I know you're probably way busy and we won't take up a lot of time." Eupheme smiled then, waiting for the girl to let her in.
She followed Philo's gaze and nodded. "Well, yeah. Seeing what his title is." This meaning his Greek one, not the current one, "but I'm sure we can cheer him up. Isn't it exciting though? Meeting one of the," her voice dropped for just Philo to hear, ""three Lords of the Earth?"
Once they were waved into the office, she gave Poseidon a bright grin and a wave patiently waiting for him to get off the phone. She tugged Philo to the kitschy gifts she'd been promised, "oh my god, look at these Philo." Her voice was low to not disturb her Great-Uncle. "Aren't these the best? Dad needs one, the look on his face alone."

[info]neptune_storm 2011-01-17 10:12 pm UTC (link) DeleteTrack This His mood as of late had been teetering on good to worst depending on how Amphitrite decided to approach him. The more he stayed out of the house, the less likely he was willing to return.
The secretary looked at them with a wide mouth and bulging eyes. "Oh I'm sorry!" she said shuffling herself out of the chair to stand up. "I didn't realize," she offered a hand to both of them, shaking it briskly. "I'll let you in," her mood almost instantly changing with the enthusiastic girls chatting to each other.
She heard him throw out a string of curses, face squinting lightly. "This is usual," she admitted. "Though it seems better than other days today." The last time she thought she'd have to call in the police.
Poseidon was sitting on the edge of his desk with his back turned when the girls came in. He knew they were there though he ignored them until he'd handled his call. They greeted him cheerfully, and his eyes moved from the floor up.
"Hephaestus' daughters, eh?" Who knew.

[info]friendlyone 2011-01-18 03:18 pm UTC (link) Track This She nodded to her sister, suddenly feeling a little nervous. Her myths never spoke of death or dying, so she had walked this world unharmed and had never once gone to Hades. She knew the stories just as well as any other Greek, she knew what both the sea king and the king of the gods were like without having ever met them. Even if she was who she was she wasn't sure she would have ever come here alone.
"I love your shoes," Philophrosyne said to the secretary as she let them into the office. She'd have to remember to find out where she'd gotten them.
She noted the look of the room, though didn't say anything about it as Eupheme lead her to the gifts. Giggling, she picked up a pair and held them over her own chest and did a little jig. With her back to her uncle, of course. Goofy was her middle name.
Setting the fake boobs back in their place she turned to offer Poseidon a smile. "Two of them, yes." She stepped forward, offering her hand to shake. She wasn't welcome for nothing.

[info]praise_worthy 2011-01-18 04:57 pm UTC (link) Track This She'd giggled, softly of course, at Philo's actions and motioned to them, "you should ask for one." When Philo stepped forward to greet their Great-Uncle she kept a distance until also offering her hand. Being polite was only going to look good. She nodded at her sister's comment, "Thanks for meeting us. And the gifts. They're even cuter when you can see them." Smiling she waited until he shook her hand or dismissed her. "I'm Eupheme. My sister's Philophrosyne." They'd introduced over the internet but that didn't mean she couldn't do it again.
"I like the office, must be nice being able to see so much." Praise was praise and could do little else.

[info]neptune_storm 2011-01-18 10:57 pm UTC (link) DeleteTrack This "Oh thank you!" the girl spoke before waving her way out of the room and leaving Dorian with the girls.
He could get used to this, being paid compliments. It was the upbeat personalities that threw him off. He crossed his arms over his chest, brows moving up as they played with the gifts. "Lovely, aren't they?" His upper lip motioned into a smirk.
"Can we get shorter names, sweetheart? That's a mouthful."

[info]friendlyone 2011-01-18 11:12 pm UTC (link) Track This It was nice being a Kharite. It almost guaranteed some cheerful all the time and the chance of everyone around them being happier. It wasn't always the case, but it was always worth the shot. She grinned, "They're definitely fun. Mind if I have one? Or are they all promised already?"
Philophrosyne chuckled, "We've already discussed this, but you can either call me Philo or Felicity. Whichever you prefer."

[info]praise_worthy 2011-01-19 11:20 am UTC (link) Track This "Pheme works for me I think." she glanced to her sister. "I've never had a nickname I think. Our parents had a thing about long names." She rolled her eyes, "or Evelyn, which is what I go by now. Either or works."
Smiling she looked around, noting the chaos but not making mention of it. "So what do you do? I wouldn't expect to look for you here. I mean, it's very grand and all, but I expected something with water."

[info]neptune_storm 2011-01-19 06:22 pm UTC (link) DeleteTrack This "Take one, not all the family is as enthusiastic about my gifts," he snorted uncrossing his arms and setting his butt against the desk, hands on either side of him on the counter top.
"Felicity and Pheme then, sounds a little sexy," he sighed.
"I got a little bored with the pirates and fishermen." He said raising a brow. "Besides, the big guy likes dallying around in an office, thought I'd give him some competition. Zeus I mean." It had always been a competition between them. Whatever Zeus did, Poseidon had to take it a step higher. He had been out of the tropical oceans for so long, the cold city had actually started to chip away at him, make him colder.
