That was Rhode's opinion, and frankly, she was pleased with how things had gone. She and Helios had been married before all the assembled gods, and she gripped his hand tightly as they walked back down the aisle and headed to the car that would take them to the reception. She leaned against Helios' shoulder during the ride, looking forward to taking off her heels and having something to eat. Her stomach was protesting, reminding she really should have eaten something more than toast or half a sandwich at some point during the day. And there would be some of Dionysus' wine there, too. Always a treat.
They walked inside and settled near the door as they waited for the guests to arrive, Rhode leaning against Helios a bit. He was good for that, tall and sturdy, and he usually didn't mind. She found his hand and squeezed it. "I'm so glad this day happened," she told him.

[info]behemothic 2012-06-21 07:11 am UTC (link) DeleteTrack This There had been no disasters yet but the day was still young. There was plenty of time for anything to bottom out. Helios was entranced with his little bride's beauty. The contrast in her appearance the first time they'd wed to now was striking. She wasn't an upset bride feeling forked over by her Olympian king. Zeus had given her to him after he'd asked. Now, she was ordering him to marry her. It was sweet in it's own right.
He kissed her once they had the car to themselves for a few short minutes before being dropped off at what gatherings Greeks did best. Parties. Food and wine and lots of gorgeous people (that happened to want to maim one another behind the polite greetings). Helios was certain Poseidon was either going to lurk in the shadows of his jealousy or prove that he deserved that restraining order, which Helios had gotten in case things got ugly. Helios had never stood down to Poseidon. Nothing pissed the sea god off more than being shown up by a Titan, especially one that had taken his favorite daughter without his permission.
He held Rhode up, a tiny little thing in comparison, but just as strong. She looked a little fatigued which meant food first then mingle. His sisters were probably ready to pounce, but Rhode came first. He nudged her toward one of the food bars with another kiss on her cheek. "You're stuck now," he teased. The wedding bands Hephaestus had made made a nice addition on both their hands. He squeezed hers a little. "Me too," he spoke against her temple. They were like a teen couple getting married just out of high school---still int he cute, honeymoon stage even if they'd done this before.

[info]unseenone 2012-06-21 07:49 am UTC (link) Track This Hades hadn't attended the actual ceremony, not because he didn't want to but he didn't think having the Lord of the Dead present during weddings was a good thing. But he liked his niece so he'd shown up for the reception.
He'd admit jealousy seeing the two. He'd never have this, and when he did it never lasted long enough. But he set it aside as he walked up to them. He knew he was intruding, but he wasn't planning on staying long anyway. Best to give his gift before he was asked to leave. He'd never been too welcome at the parties of Olympus.
He gave a smile and removed his shades. He was glad enough he could actually look at Helios. "Niece, congratulations." From the pocket of his coat he got his own gift and extended it to the girl. He may not have Hephaestus' skill, but he had a bit of his own. "A gift. I hope it suits you." he gave Helios a smirk, "I got you nothing. You already have my niece. I feel that is plenty."
