Who: Hercules and Hebe Where: College Hebe goes to (if she's still in school Angela, I thought she was, tell me if it is otherwise) When: Valentine's, 2011 Warnings: TBA
Hercules had been even more quiet these days, if that was at all possible for someone as silent as himself. Hebe had been around, their life had returned back to normal. She'd been a doting wife, considerate and comforting when Hera had broken him. He'd broken down in front of Hebe in a way that may have been shocking. He wasn't sure what tricks Hera was up to now with his father gone, but he was not going to let her get him again. Hercules would always come back with brute strength to weather any storm she threw his way. It had been that way since his birth, it would be that way through eternity. Hera had never seen him at the helm of the Olympians. Hercules was one of them but few remembered that.
This afternoon he went to Hebe as she got out from one of her classes with a rose in hand. He'd remembered before when his father said buying trinkets for his woman was a way to show affection. Hercules wasn't the smartest brute in the bunch, but he did catch on to some things. Hebe wasn't exactly easy to buy for, but he figured a flower would be a good way to start. It was a holiday after all. It had taken four aisles of candy hearts, cards and stuffed bears to tell him that.
Hebe was definitely a girly girl. And she was a girly girl who loved Valentine's. A day set aside just for ones sweetheart. A day to show them how much you loved and cared for them. Nothing was more romantic and sweet than that. She had actually gone out several days beforehand to get her husband some gifts. Maybe he wouldn't entirely appreciate those, but she knew he would appreciate the heart in it all.
That he showed up at class was surprising, but she beamed up at him. "What are you-" she began before she saw the rose. "Is that for me or are you waiting for a date?" She grinned giddily.
"Know where she is?" he teased with the lightest of smiles. He looked like a footballer without all the gear, not at all what any of her fellow classmates expected. "Short. Light hair. Pretty smile." He had not a thing else for her, but he was still getting used to actually having her with him.
She made a face, "Hmm, no I don't think I've seen anyone like that. Although there are a lot of people here so maybe I've just overlooked her." It was moments like these that made Hebe giddy with excitement. Everyone around them had no idea who he was or that he was her husband. But when she decided enough silliness was enough and she stood on her toes to kiss his cheek, it was evident.
He handed over the rose, which was lavender without any thorns. "It was the prettiest," he said as her lips touched his cheek. He'd have whisked her up with one hand off her feet but he controlled the urge to be so forward in her public space. He was curious as to when she'd be out. He'd missed her.
"It's beautiful, thank you," she said, unable able wipe the smile off her face. She waved to a few of her classmates who had stopped to watch whatever this was unfold. It was no secret she was married, but Hebe had no pictures to show so the shock of how incredibly large he was compared to her was evident on their faces. "See you next class," she said to them and then focused all her attention on Hercules. "I like surprises."
He brushed her cheek with his knuckles, a hand that was so large it looked as if it could crush her face in with one grip. "I know." He caught the glances of her classmates out of the corner of his eye, most of them more focused on how tall he stood and the muscles that ripped from his shirt. Even in a plaid shirt and jeans he couldn't hide his size.
"You free?"
Hebe didn't seem to mind the staring. In fact, being able to show them just who her husband was (even though she couldn't really say who he was) was very useful. For future reference, in ace any of them ever ran into him on the street and tried to flirt they'd be spared beforehand. But that wasn't even on her mind. Love was in the air. She could feel it.
She nodded, "Yes, I am. This was my only class. Did you have something in mind?"
Hercules took Hebe's hand leading her out of the classroom. "Just you. Me. Time together." Since she'd started up her classes he'd seen less of her, and that worry that she'd be taken from him again was never far from his mind. He'd do anything in his power to keep her safe.
