Paseithea/Hypnos
Pasithea (Open) [info]lily_white 2011-06-26 01:06 pm UTC (link) Track This Pasithea had been in the city longer than anyone had realized. It was her own desire to remain well hidden from many of her fellow Greeks if only because history was a bitch and she really didn't need people bugging her just because she "felt familiar" and that had happened on more than one occasion. But this party had been looming for a while and she could no longer deny her presence was expected; she had received an invitation, even though she had never made herself known to her King or Queen.
It wasn't that she had anything against them. She just liked her peace and resting was what she did best. So she had dressed somewhat casually and let her presence be known. She doubted many remembered her, but she was usually in a fairly good mood. Stretching, she sat back comfortably on a balcony chair and just stared up into the sky wondering why it had to be so bright at night. The stars were all hidden. She was there and if she was expected to participate in games or something of the sort she might be so inclined.

[info]bringerofsleep 2011-06-26 06:05 pm UTC (link) Track This Hypnos was starting to feel like a breath of fresh air would definitely do him some good, so he made his way out onto the balcony. He'd removed his jacket and tie some time ago, and that, combined with the breeze across his skin, was starting to make him feel better.
Several deep breaths and half a drink later, he was almost his regular cheerful self. He was turning to go back inside, when he noticed a girl sitting on a chair. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't disturb you, did I?"

[info]lily_white 2011-06-26 06:30 pm UTC (link) Track This Pasithea had sunk into the seat and looked half-asleep. In fact, she could have fallen asleep any moment had she not heard someone come out. Unlike most people would have reacted, however, she was completely fine with this change of events. Such was expected at a party.
"A little, but I'm always open to new things." She looked slightly bleary-eyed but cheerful nonetheless. She gave off an overwhelming sense of calmness and anyone who embraced it would start to feel incredibly relaxed. (She probably even had something stashed in that purse of hers if that didn't do the trick.)

[info]bringerofsleep 2011-06-26 09:19 pm UTC (link) Track This The feeling of calm this woman seemed to give off was both welcome and familiar to Hypnos, but at the back of his head, like a half-forgotten memory. He tried to think of where he might have known her.
"Openmindedness is both welcome and a rarity, at least that I've found," he remarked with a small smile. "I just needed a break, you know? Lots of gods with short tempers milling about in there. And I don't think I'm one of Zeus' favorite people."

[info]lily_white 2011-06-26 09:30 pm UTC (link) Track This "I think being somewhere between favorite and hated is a good place to be. He's never bothered me and I'm perfectly happy." By now she was staring at him in such a way that would probably unnerve anyone. It was like she was trying to work through every fiber and molecule, just to figure him out. Which was almost what she was doing.
It was probably the years she'd been alone that she couldn't quite remember everything but a little flash here and there made her hopeful. "You're Sleep?"

[info]bringerofsleep 2011-06-26 09:35 pm UTC (link) Track This "Good point," he said. "The only reason he bothered me was because of Hera, but...long story, long time ago." He felt her stare boring into him and gave it right back. He really wanted to know where he'd seen her before.
He nodded slowly. "That would be me. We've met before, right? I mean...everything about you seems familiar, I just...can't place it. And I feel like I should be able to."
