Who: Briseis and Deirdre of the Sorrows
What: Moving time
Where: Deirdre's soon to be former place
When: Wednesday night
Warnings: TBD
Deirdre was still on a cloud from after New Years. She hadn't done this dating thing, and it was quite nice to just enjoy it and go with it all. Sure she hadn't the slightest clue how to do this and she knew that sooner or later she'd come falling down, but right now she was riding her high. She'd only told Perseus of her move, not wanting anyone else to show up at her doorstep. She wouldn't be able to deal with Conchobar right now.
When Briseis arrived she waved her inside. She had no trouble with her dog once she'd put him in the kitchen with a gate. She felt like the poor thing assumed she was leaving him too so she made a point to pack up all of the dog's toys and blankets so Gandalf knew he was coming with her. Smiling she put a box down and pushed her hair from her eyes. "Hi, I'd apologize for the mess but I am moving." She motioned to her dog. "That's Gandalf. He's a sweety, really. Thank you again for the offer."

"The mess is understandable then," Briseis smiled as she entered.
Briseis liked Deirdre and she hoped that it wasn't just because she saw a little of herself in the Irish woman. They'd both been through such similar things and Briseis wanted - almost desperately - to act as protector towards Deirdre. Briseis couldn't protect herself once and now it seemed her whole life was about protecting those women who were like she had been.
She bent a little to pat the shaggy dog with a grin and then straightened up again. "Tell me what I can do to help," she said, clapping her hands together decisively.

Smiling she walked to Briseis and offered her a box, "put aside any knick knacks you find if you could. Just wrap them up a bit." Deirdre had never shied from getting her hands dirty. She really did prefer it. "And when everything here is mostly settled I'd like to tackle the kitchen. It's the biggest work."
It would take less work this way, "did you enjoy your New Years?"

"Sounds like you use your kitchen more than I use mine," Briseis said with amusement. "Cooking has never been my strongest talent."
She started doing what Deirdre had asked her to and said, "mine was pretty quiet. A bottle of wine in the apartment with a couple of friends. How was yours with Perseus?"

She gave a happy grin, "I love to cook. It's one of the few things they taught me that I didn't hate. And after feeding four men, I got to love doing it. I could teach you a bit if you like."
Her smile only got bigger then, "amazing. Wonderfully. I really like him," smiling she ducked her head, "and luckily he likes me back so. It's nice doing the slow thing." She paused, "if I'm right about Conchobar, don't let me throw myself at him. I like him. I want to do this right. I don't want him to feel like he's an excuse or an escape route."

"Well, you can be mistress of the kitchen then." Briseis told her with a gentle laugh. "And I'm happy to learn a few more things. I can't cook much beyond simple meals, which gets me and Patroclus through the day, but more might be better."
Briseis had picked up a few things in her hands when she turned to look at Deirdre curiously. "So you think this pushy guy might really be Conchobar?" Briseis' voice was pitched low and serious. "If he is, I won't let him near you." She sighed. "I don't like coming across as overprotective but... well, I'm over protective as a rule."

Grinning she set things in boxes, wrapping up what she didn't want damaged. "It'd be my pleasure. And it always tends to be, I've found. Simply things are exactly that. But you won't enjoy it as much."
"Thank you for that, and I have suspicions. Strong ones. It'd explain some things either way. I always knew him when he was older though, so I cannot be sure yet." Sighing she set another thing in a box, "but everything else adds up. I just lock up around him. I couldn't do anything for so long, and only saw one exit. I'd rather not repeat myself."

Briseis put down her item and walked over to the other woman, reaching out for her hand and catch her eye. "Hey," she said gently, wanting her attention. "We won't let it happen again. You have more options now and more people you can rely on." Briseis gave her a small friendly smile. "This time won't be like last time." Not for any of them.
