Who: Eros and Ariadne What: While searching for Dionysus, Eros finds Ariadne instead When: Wednesday, around 3 pm Where: New York street Warnings: Mentions of a person being a ball of yarn, possible language, TBD
When she'd been taken by the creature, Ariadne had no idea what to expect. Even now she had no way of explaining how she'd felt being a something instead of a someone. She was frazzled, panicked and had no idea where she was. Pale and shaking she had curled into a ball near the end of an alleyway, not knowing what to think or how to be. Everything felt wrong and dizzy, and she was afraid to close her eyes in case it would all happen again.
Many passed by her, thinking her another lost soul on these streets, when a shadow paused over her she jumped and curled closer to the wall, looking up to the figure in fear. He looked familiar, and it was long moments before she recognized him. "Eros?" Her voice was harsh from disuse. "I...I don't know where I am."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 04:26 pm (local) (link) Track This Eros had been searching the last week for Dionysus coming up empty handed with every lead he came to. Wherever he was he was well hidden, and his power so faded that the little winged god couldn't detect him.
In the midst of his searching he'd managed to get in a few hits to some lonely couples, one of which spent the few minutes falling for a park bench just for Eros' amusement. It cost him a chase around that end of city for the last half hour. Subway systems, they were fantastic.
Pausing to catch his breath Eros started down street, getting back to the matter at hand. It was then that he saw her, crumpled and scared as if she'd been a dumped kitten.
"ARI!" he yelled racing to her side and helping her up to her feet, wiping her hair from her face. She wasn't Dion, but at least part of the equation was solved. He looked around angry, whomever was near would feel the wrath of Ares' son. He might be little but he could throw in a few good hits.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 04:39 pm (local) (link) Track This Suddenly she was pulled up and she couldn't help from crying. Something was wrong. Everything felt strange and she couldn't make sense of anything. She felt dizzy and unstable, and something was missing.
It didn't matter she wasn't too fond of Eros. Right now it was someone and it was better then nothing.
She held onto his arms, trying to get her bearings. No one was around, it was just her.
She didn't realize she was crying until her vision blurred and she blinked. "Eros. I don't...everything's wrong. I need Dion."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 04:50 pm (local) (link) Track This He held onto her arms steadying her, it was as if she couldn't even walk she was so distraught. He'd never seen her like this, not in this time. What had happened to the poor girl? He wasn't fond of her either but Dion adored her therefore Eros would do anything to ensure Dion's happiness.
"You..." he paused at her question not knowing what the best way was to bring this up, so he just blurted it, "I haven't seen him. He's gone Ari." Where, Eros didn't know. "You haven't seen him?"
She continued to cry and he wiped her cheeks, offering her his jacket as they stumbled out of the street.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 05:07 pm (local) (link) Track This "What?" Her everything felt shaky and knowing Dion was missing was not helping, "no. No." Then she burst into tears and clung to Eros letting him lead her out of the street.

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 06:38 pm (local) (link) Track This "He's been out of it since you went missing." Eros kept a strong arm behind her making sure she didn't fall or lose her balance from the shock. Her face was buried against his shirt. He ran a hand down her back soothingly. "Come with me," he said nodding, "we'll find Dion," he wasn't sure but he had to gve her something to hope on. Dionysus was her spirit just as much as Psyche was his own. When it was separated, the world was off. Already Eros had been away for a week from his beloved.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 07:33 pm (local) (link) Track This At this point she would go with anyone. Being without Dion was hard on her, especially now. He was more then her husband, he was her God and he affected her as badly as he could affect the mortals. "Got to find him. Oh Gods, Dion."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 08:04 pm (local) (link) Track This Eros walked with her slowly, easing her into the subway and buses throughout the city. He was further out than he'd expected, but at least he'd not come back empty handed.
Once they were safely on a subway car he sat her down, taking the seat beside her. "Good gods Ariadne what happened?" he was concerned, of course he was. "I've been looking for a week now, since Dion went missing." The vibe was weird, even he could feel it. Maybe if he could get some clue about what happened to her he'd know better where to find Dionysus.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 08:30 pm (local) (link) Track This She shook her head, "I don't...I don't know. Everything went red and fuzzy and I feel like everything's on it's head." She looked to Eros, "I can't get myself straight. It's all wrong and I need Dion." She shook her head, "I'll forget without him."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 08:37 pm (local) (link) Track This "Forget what?" Eros asked, suddenly all his senses going crazy. What did she mean forget? This made him nervous. Dionysus was his friend, he had to fix things even if it wasn't his fault. Eros had more heart than people gave him credit for.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 08:41 pm (local) (link) Track This "Everything." She looked to her hands, seeing them shake, "myself. He keeps me alive Eros. With him I'm Ariadne his wife. Without him I'm just a girl." She looked at him, "I'm not like Psyche. I didn't get to be much of a goddess. I was only part of others, like your mother." She gave him a desperate look, "oh Eros, you have to ask her to help. She'll know. She'll find him. I'm not strong enough."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 08:47 pm (local) (link) Track This Eros was at a loss for words, but he understood what she meant. At the same time she'd survived this long before ever seeing Dionysus. "What about when you hadn't found him Ari?" He was working to make her thing strong.
He pulled the coat around her a little tighter, keeping her warm, she looked as if she trembled one more time she'd break. "You won't forget. He's fine wherever he is I'm sure," though he wasn't that sure. He'd seen what a mess Naxos had started to turn into, the dark cloud that seemed to hover over it. Dionysus was losing it then, he couldn't imagine what had happened to him now.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 08:53 pm (local) (link) Track This She gave him a shaky smile, "the museum. It had a display on my father, the labyrinth and Theseus." She lowered her eyes, "I got to talk about myself and my yarn. It helped. But you can't tell Dion Eros," she looked at him, "he doesn't like it when I mention Theseus."
She shook her head, looking to her fingers, "he's not. He needs me. I need him. I promised him I'd look after him."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 09:28 pm (local) (link) Track This Eros put his arm around her calmly telling her it was with a soft hum that it would be okay. He wasn't sure what she was talking about. "It's part of your story, Ari. Think about what Dionysus sacrificed to have you, don't forget that. Remember that."
He turned his head quickly, shifting back from his seat to look at her from under those long blond tresses. "Look after him, Ari what do you mean? Why? Is he...?" He hadn't even thought to look at the psychiatric wards. Why, that had been so obvious, but he'd looked in local police stations. It had completely bypassed him to look anywhere else. He could see in her eyes that she felt something stronger than he did. "What's wrong with him, what are you feeling?" If she was in any way connected to Dionysus like he was to Psyche, the world hit a cosmic shift.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-13 09:46 pm (local) (link) Track This She shook her head again, tracing her wrists with her thumb, "I don't know, I don't know! It's all fog and unclear. I just know that he needs me." She shook her head, "Oh Eros, he sacrificed yes. But how many know my name? The mortals make us, or break us. I haven't much time left."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-13 10:05 pm (local) (link) Track This She was frantic and Eros was at a loss. He just knew he needed to get her home around others to bring the color back to her face while he bidded time to find Dionysus. If she was this disoriented, it didn't speak well of where and how Dionysus was doing. Without that bright light the wine god brought, what did that say for the rest of them? Their futures in this mortal world where new and fancy gods popped up like daisies.
Had the Greeks finally worn out their welcome. It made Eros angry and more determined. He wasn't about to start double guessing. He wouldn't be the son of Ares if he just sat back like a depressed schmuck.
"Ariadne, tell me what you can please. You have to, it can help. It will bring Dion back," he grabbed her face softly nodding to reassure her. It wasn't a lie but it was a stretch for the truth so he could learn more.

[info]mostholy 2011-04-14 06:36 am (local) (link) Track This "I Can't!" Her voice was loud enough to startle a few of the other passengers and she cringed back into the seat, "please. Please. I can't. It's all foggy and dizzy." Shaking he looked to her nails, "I don't know, don't know if I'll get through this."

[info]tricky_arrow 2011-04-14 04:53 pm (local) (link) Track This "Shuussshhh," Eros spoke softly hoping to keep her calm, his prodding wasn't helping any, but the kid was trying. "Let's just get you home, cleaned up and we'll talk about what to do. I'll call my mother, she'll know what to do."
He patted her lightly on the back and then rubbed softly like he often did with Hedone when she threw her own temper tantrums. It was what he'd had to do when he went missing for five months and she cried the entire night he returned.
"You will Ari, of course you will." He hadn't been much of a friend before, in fact he'd even pestered her when she had been so disrespectful to Dionysus and left. For some reason now though he was understanding her more.
