Who: Judas (narrative)
What: resurrection
When: Tuesday early morning, 13/12/11
Where: a morgue
Judas came back with a sudden scream of agony, the unfinished half of his death shriek still ringing through him. He was shivering violently, eyes wide as he tried to figure out where he was. Dark and cold and narrow. He reached out and his arms hit the sides of the narrow space he was confined in, feeling out the walls and roof above him. Why was it so damn cold? He thumped on the wall above him, coming to the conclusion that he was locked up in a morgue drawer. He shoved hard, beating at his prison until the catch came open, having not being latched properly, by fortuitous chance. He rolled off his bed and fell clumsily onto the floor, arms and legs still trying to wake up. So fucking cold- Judas's hand went to his throat, feeling the tender skin that had been sliced open. It hurt a little to breath, but that could be the cold too. He searched for something to wear, and found a sheet which he wrapped around himself like a toga.
He stumbled to the door and looked out. Everything was dark. Checking the clock, he saw it was 4:13 am. He'd have to break out. He realised there was still a morgue tag on his toe, and he pulled it off and left it in the drawer he'd been occupying, and closed the drawer carefully. Let them figure this one out. It took some effort, but he managed to make his way out of the building, still freezing cold and stumbling. Outside it was no warmer, and Judas let his feet lead him toward the nearest homeless shelter, occasionally stopping to remind his lungs to work.
He didn't remember being on the other side, just a void of nothing where he wasn't here. Perhaps that was for the best. And if he ever saw Mary again, he was running the other way.
