Who: Lena & Aidan
What: Come over and help me ignore school
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: Aidan's apartment
Three days back at school, and already Aidan was remembering why vacations were so lovely. Mostly because they involved his brain not leaking out of his ears. And tacky souvenirs. And sex. And warm weather, and why had he thought college in New York was a good idea?
Picking up his phone to call someone, he thumbed through his contacts. He hadn't seen Lena for ages, and he'd kept meaning to call her and hang out, but their lives never really seemed to match up. Hopefully that wasn't the case now.
"You should come over," he said into the phone. "There will be Chinese food and me and terrible action movies. School is a bitch sometimes."
Lena laughed and agreed, telling him she would see him soon. She loved terrible action movies, Chinese food, and especially spending time with Aiden.
She showed up at his door with some vodka and juice in her pink, sparkly backpack. When he opened the door, she grinned at him. "Hey! I come with supplies to get you good at drunk if you want! That way you can forget about that bitch of a place you go to school at!"
"Bless you," he said, returning her grin and letting her come inside. "I'm always terrible at getting my head out of vacation mode, I'm pretty sure it's actually still down in Florida."
He set the takeout on the table, pulling out soy sauce and sweet and sour. "So, what have you been up to?" he asked. "Feels like I haven't seen you in forever."
Lena patted Aiden on the shoulder as she walked past him into his place. "I am not surprised if it is in Florida," she said with a smile. "Or it could be in lala-land with mine!"
She glanced over the takeout and grinned. "Me? Working mostly. Trying to find someone to fuck. Do you know how hard it is to find a sane person who doesn't want commitment in this weirdass city!? I might just sleep with Joey's roommate if it goes on any longer!"
"Well if it is in lala-land, at least it's got good company," he laughed.
"Ah, see, you and your picky 'sanity' requirements," he said with a grin, making air quotes. "I'm kidding! But from your reaction, I'm going to guess...really hard. We should go out dancing, I bet you could find someone there."
Lena snorted as Aiden made fun of her desire for sane partners. "Dancing would be good, though everyone will assume I'm with you if we spent all night dancing together. It's okay though, I'm a damn good dirty dancer." She should be, since that was what she got paid for.
"Did you get sweet and sour chicken? I'm going to shove it in my face."
He shrugged. "I've had worse assumptions made about me than that a pretty girl is with me. I'm sure we could figure something out. Besides, I miss dancing, dirty or otherwise."
He laughed and checked the containers, finally locating the right one and passing it to her along with some sauce. "There's crab rangoon in the little bag, I think. And some egg rolls."
Lena thought that sounded acceptable, and she helped herself to the food. "You're a food-ordering genius, McAllister," she informed him. "I would sleep in vat filled with sweet and sour chicken and crab rangoon. It was have eggroll pillows!"
