WHO: Aphrodite & Ariadne
WHEN: Friday afternoon
WHERE: Eros' apartment
WHAT: Aphrodite thinks she cures all.
Just as she told Eros she would, Aphrodite had been making her calls to the hospitals in New York City in search of Dionysus. It was familiar territory for the love goddess, although the last time she posed as his distraught wife the hospitals had been less pleasant.
Her second promise was that she would visit Adriadne and attempt to soothe the disturbed child who - in some way - shared a part of her. There was a connection between Aphrodite and Ariadne. Although Aphrodite rarely spared much thought for the girl or her life (and although Aphrodite would never truly consider her more than a mortal), even the arrogant goddess of love couldn't forget that the two of them had once been worshiped as one in Cyprus, the people paying their tributes to Aphrodite-Ariadne in the hopes that it would bring them all they desired.
So Aphrodite thought that if there was anyone who could help Ariadne remember exactly who and what she was, it was her.
She made her way to her darling boy's home, kissing Psyche on each cheek before giving her the day's backhanded compliment and asking to see Dionysus' wife.
She entered the room where Ariadne waited and said her name quietly, gently. She was here today to be a soothing influence on the girl. Aphrodite, despite what some people believed, was not callous.

It was only because of Psyche's influence she'd yet to completely loose herself. Ariadne still felt frayed, and unbalanced. Every night was a nightmare and every time she felt like she had straps on her arms.
What was worse was she knew she'd let her husband down. And he was never in any state to look for her. She balanced him.
She barely left her room, only really getting out of bed for the necessities.
The new presence and voice made her look up, although she rather Aphrodite go looking for her wayward husband. Ariadne could only imagine what they were doing to her poor Dion. Making an effort she sat up, curling the blankets closer, "any word?"

Aphrodite shook her head lightly. "Not yet," the goddess told her as she sat down on the edge of the bed, reaching out to touch her forehead with the back of her fingers: a concerned mother checking for signs of fever. "But I'll find him soon."

Her eyes lowered and she pulled her legs up, setting her arms around them. "I promised him, promised him this wouldn't happen and now it has. OH Gods," with a sob she set her head on her knees. "Everythings wrong, and going away. I can hardly remember."

"Stop," Aphrodite commanded, but there was a tenderness in her voice. Her ran a hand over Ariadne's blonde locks. "You must hold yourself together, dear child. Because when I bring Dionysus home to you he will need your beautiful smiling face."

Her breath hitched to the command, but she couldn't stop crying. Her fingers wrapped into the blankets, shaking her head. "I don't know if I can do that." She felt so frayed herself, hardly able to look after herself, let alone push it all aside to focus on her husband.

Aphrodite reached out for Ariadne and drew the girl into her arms to hold her. There was something about the mortal girl so closely identified with her in tears like this that reminded Aphrodite of her own dear Harmonia and all the suffering that her been forced upon her by Hephaestus. The tears brought out Aphrodite's maternal instincts.
"You must be calm," Aphrodite said, stroking her hair as she held her. "Dionysus will return as he always does. I will bring him back to you and all this shall be nothing more than memories. But if you don't hold tight to yourself and all that you are, he will be returning to nothing."

"I don't know if I can," she knew the Gods really didn't understand that, didn't understand how fragile she felt. She had so few speaking her name. Sure her myth was studied, but unlike many others she was not worshiped. Even the revivalists barely knew about her.
