Sunday, February 22nd, afternoon
Who: Noah Browning and Jeff Novak
What: Catching up
When: February 22, mid-afternoon
Where: Baker park, the batting cages
Rating: PG-13
Status: COMPLETE
Noah propped the bat against the chain link wall to the batting cage and bent to pick up his bottle of water. He'd been at it for a couple of hours, long enough to lose track of how many balls he'd hit, long enough that he'd shed his sweatshirt and his tee shirt and henley were damp and clammy with sweat, long enough that he had a burn across his shoulders and back from swinging that replaced the ache he'd gotten from moving furniture yesterday.
He wiped his forehead on his shirt sleeve and took a long drink of water before checking his watch. If Jeff decided not to show, he'd put in a few more rounds then bike off to the gym to swim some laps. He was already in very good shape; if nothing else, he'd be in great shape.
Maybe after that, he'd stop by the store and pick up some things for a big salad. Or maybe not. He was spoiled for supermarket produce, but yesterday had been too busy for him to get to the open market, and by the time he finished swimming today, the market would most likely be closed. He had no idea if May planned to cook; he hadn't asked, just left a note saying he'd be out for most of the day. Probably best to stop by the store, then.
With a sigh, he stripped off his batting gloves and flexed his hands as he waited for Jeff.
