Summary: Jubba Jubba wants some dinner, Merlin proves difficult - and why does he always end up in stone structures? Down a well he goes~
It wasn't that he really needed someone so soon again but the target was just so familiar. It had been after the first time that he realized this was the man who had thought him special some time back. Jubokko had fondly smiled and silently agreed with the opinion all over again, knowing his self-worth well.
So when he wasn't planning on handling Amaterasu, he paid attention to the news, about anything relating to Merlin. And when he learned the man was related to the one who ran off with the Ryugunese princess, who was he to not consider an appropriate action against him? The whole affair with the princess had been so vulgar, offending him as Ryugunese man who had left his home to not drain his own people.
It was in the evening again and he was in disguise. The wig was made of real hair, a rich chestnut brown colour. The clothes were notable Iriyian as well. The thickness of them was a problem in such milder weather but he knew that he would be getting a meal out of this. He was waiting once more, lingering in the shadows with the intent to take Merlin from behind again.
Last time, Merlin had been drunk. This time? Oh, this time he was not drunk. He was actually running a little late from the palace into town and now he was on his way back. In the mail he had just placed an anonymous later for Morpheus, nothing incriminating, just a hello from Merlin type of thing. He missed the other man a lot, and with the looming threat of Sigyn and Heimdall's fate...
Merlin sought to retreat to that.
There was also Euterpe's visit to look forward too and he gave a small smile, turning down the street, along the sidewalk, under the gas lamps. Shadows elongated more and more as he moved from the better lit parts of town, along the road that led back up to the castle. That was not generally well lit.
Oh so briefly, Jubokko wondered if the man hadn't learned from the last time. Or had he not recalled at all? A curious matter but a fleeting thought as he stepped out just as Merlin passed and grabbed him in the same manner as before. The draining was almost immediate, flooding him with energy that was unneeded but welcomed all the time.
A subtle little purr was offered up as he spoke softly. "Don't fight me again."
The drainage hit him as if someone had physically knocked into him, and Merlin jerked this time far more ready to fight than last time. "Son of a-" he didn't finish the sentence, just focused whatever he could into getting rid of the grip of the other man.
Man type thing, because right now Merlin couldn't feel this as a man, but as some sort of...thing. Something grabbing and sucking at everything he was. It was like a pit would swallow him whole, he felt mildly sick- pins and needles along his legs.
Yet he fought, flailing limbs and gritted teeth.
Narrowing his eyes, he clenched his teeth. Merlin was a couple of inches taller than himself but he wouldn't be taken down by some lanky, noodle-man. His fingernails dug into Merlin's throat, biting just hard into the flesh to force bleed to well up. And there was something about that made him feel better, more connected to everything he was.
A growling sound not entirely human was emitted and he jerked Merlin back into the shadows, trying to mind his step. And when he came to a wall, Jubokko twisted, bringing them both around so he could force Merlin up against it, face first.
Merlin wasn't stupid, he had mild suspicions that he could well die soon and he was not going to let himself die because someone mugged him. Something, something was doing...something - and - he let out a curse of swear words when fingers dug into his neck and he stumbled.
The wall was a welcome prop to hold himself up and he struggled again, flailing limbs, trying to claw and fight, feebly trying to get away, now he was using the wall to help himself up, but what he could see was this... man, thing, it didn't sound like a man.
The wall as decent support for Jubokko as well. He used both hands around Merlin's throat, both strangling him and drawing more from him, wanting the man to go feeble soon. One knee was jammed in the back of Merlin's in an attempt to get one of those flailing limbs to cease. What had started as a simple plan was now something he wanted to see through and end in a bad, bad way.
Death sounded like a nice idea. And there was a well nearby, wasn't there?
Yes, yes there was a well nearby.
A choked up sound and he wanted- he wanted to really hurt this man-thing back. What was it doing here, sucking and strangling - and he, what was that knee doing? That was so not Merlin-approved use of knees. The chancellor shoved one hand up, pressing it against Jubba Jubba's nose- not a very effective tactic but hey, he was fighting, right?
In the end, Merlin didn't want to die.
...just what was that hand doing? Jubokko hissed and tore on hand away to grab that hand by the wrist, maintaining flesh-to-flesh contact. If he thought Merlin would be surviving this, he would have taken more pleasure in doing what he did next. With a hard jerk and a wet snap, he successfully broke the man's right wrist.
And, for a good measure, he kneed the back of Merlin's other knee as well.
This time he couldn't be silent, Merlin let out an agonizing scream as the bone snapped and he fell forward after feeling that knee connecting with his own, he didn't know where he was falling into, but his good hand groped around trying to hold onto anything so he didn't hit something with his head.
He swore out loud, calling Jubboko a string of colourful names, but he still fought the drain, fought the pain. Merlin might be skinny, but he wanted to live and he had a lot of fight in him.
That was enough. Attempted assault on his form, the cursing - it was enough to draw him into the worst of moods. The joy of draining was gone and the man was a problem beyond words. Releasing that broken wrist, he grabbed a fistful of Merlin's head and yanked his head back. Without ceremony or comment, the good doctor pushed it forward to see Merlin's forehead connect with that wall. And he would repeat the procedure until successfully in knocking him out.
It actually didn't take more than three good blows to knock Merlin out, he was drained already and with the agony of a broken wrist? Well, the blackness was a good thing for him, he felt everything fade into nothing.
His last thought was that if he ever found this thing, he was going to set it on fire and scatter the ashes. It was evil, and wrong and unnatural. Nothing like this should ever exist.
Then there was only nothing.
"God above," Jubokko hissed, letting Merlin go in distaste. A solid kick was offered to the unconscious man's middle as he added in a savage tone, "I really can't stand any of you. Fighting when you should know better. Fighting as if you mean anything in the end."
Stepping away, he took a moment for himself, to bring himself to a calm before he returned to the body. It would be dragged by the wrists over to that well but examined over for any evidence that could cause him issues later. When he was assured, he hauled the man up by his armpits and leaned him over the well.
Within a pause, he examined the features of the man he'd never see again and then decided that the man was nothing that special. The world would go on as he thought it would. Sliding an arm under Merlin's knees, he tipped the chancellor over.
"Good-bye."
