Echo looked around the small town. It had been a few years since she had last been there, and her nerves were just as bad as they had been then. Four years, and now she was ready to return. Now that she had won the right to be the leader of the Blue Dragons, she fully intended to fulfill any roles that required of her. The one that she wasn't looking forward to though was getting to know people. She had never been good with people, creature or human.
Echo made her way down the street towards the cottage that belonged to her. She hadn't seen it in some time, and she hoped it wasn't too dusty. She didn't know anyone in town, even though she had been here before. She'd only stayed long enough to buy a place and get her things moved in from Scotland. She still couldn't believe that she'd left her northern Scotland home for this swealtering, deep south, American heat. What was she thinking?
But that was all behind her now. A new future was open, and she was going to take it and run with it. She still had to introduce herself to Jack, and find the other blue that was supposed to be here. She thought her name was Ambrosia, but she wasn't completely sure. She wasn't looking forward to either of these meetings, but she had to bite the bullet eventually.
Echo opened the door to her small cottage and looked inside. The rays of sunlight were caught by the dust floating around in the air, just as she had feared. It was going to take her an entire day to get this mess taken care of. She wandered around the house, opening windows and doors to air things out. As she began cleaning, she could hear the voices of some of her neighbors wandering up and down the street, and she hoped their curiosity at her open doors wouldn't be strong enough to draw them in. She hoped.
