Remy knew Kevin didn't drink, or didn't like to drink, or at least, he made it a point to tell Remy every time there was whiskey that he didn't want to drink, but still, Remy carried the bourbon with him under his duster coat that had its sleeves pushed back as he strolled through the old halls of Xavier's School. Thankfully the Guild armor was light and in this weather that New York was having, he felt pretty comfortable, particularly after returning from New Orleans with its humidity and bayou life.
Those who knew Remy knew that he always had the jacket on when he was either working or was feeling particularly exposed to the world. It was like a tell for the thief. It was Remy's comfort blanket. These past few months had been a roller coaster of ups and downs and there was still no end in sight, but one thing was remaining the same, if Gambit had anything to say about it. And that was his relationship with Kevin, the boy who he'd dubbed his brother after the two of them had gone through not only the MRA together, but the manifestation of Kevin's mutation as it evolved. Kevin, according to Remy, was the younger brother in the room, but it wasn't uncommon for Kevin Ford to be the one making the rational and even keeled call when it came to getting advice. Kevin was sensible. Kevin called Remy out on his bullshit. Kevin was one of Remy's trusted friends.
Wracking his memory to try and recall whether or not Kevin had a roommate, Remy arrived at the boy's door before he could accurately remember, and just split the difference. He knocked and then just stepped inside. At least he was using the door at all. Remy considered that a step up compared to his more recent activities.
"Bonjour la chambre!" he called out with a half smirk.
