A Mercutio seeking a Juliet. And a Romeo, if he is so inclined.

Let's get this out in the open. I'm a bitch, and I think Juliet was an idiot. Nice to meet you. Haven't heard from Romeo since the party.

It's refreshing to hear you speak the way you normally do. I did wonder afterward what was under all that naivete.

Why Juliet?

Because she's nothing like me. Being someone else seems to be a good idea around here. Why Mercutio?

Because he is not me. Neither of us fear our deaths, but he can also enjoy life and find the humor in it until the very end. Why do you think she was an idiot?

Because no man is worth dying for.

Are men the issue specifically, or do you include women in that equation?

Some people might be worth dying for, but it has nothing to do with gender, and it doesn't have anything to do with a child's vision of love. Do you disagree with me?

I believe that there are people in this world I would die for, and some of them for love's sake. I can't quite tell if that contradicts how you feel or not, but it seems I might lean a bit more toward the romantic end than you do.

I don't believe in romance, so possibly. I don't believe in many things, so there's that, too. Maybe Romeo will be more up your alley.

He's not really my type, and I've had my fill of love. I don't think we are meant to be together, love and I, much as I may admire her.

If you admire her, you have better feelings for her that I do. How about a name, there, lover?

The real one is precious to me, so I can only offer a substitute. Will Fawkes suffice?

I appreciate any and all support I am offered, but I can't help but feel the city does, on occasion, put its support with the masks or with me for reasons of titillation almost more than actual any concurrence of moral philosophy.

Look who's come out of the woodwork. We should all meet for coffee in a neon lit diner, like one of those prints everyone likes to hang on their walls. Do you have a name, Romeo?

I think that would be inadvisable. But I am curious as well whether Romeo has a name.

How open of you, Romeo. Neither of us have seen fit to give our real names yet. And why did Kieran Mancuso choose to dress as Romeo?

Mercutio is never going to give his real name. Not after telling us he's Fawkes. But since Romeo was so forthcoming,

Lilith Mellori.

Let him keep his name. I have no need for it. I have no intentions of stopping him or turning him in.

Not a savior, then, nor a vigilante, is my Romeo? I don't know why he would seek out people with nothing to hide, unless he's lonely. Are you lonely, Fawkes?

I was curious. When you spend the length of a party believing that you know someone, you find you want to know who they are, really. No nefarious plans, I assure you.

You have no reason to respect either of us, vigilante.

But the lady wishes to see your mask, perhaps you can devise some terms that would secure safety?
