Possessed 2
Between Yellow and Chapter1 of Royal Sisters Tasha is possessed and her best friend Flen dies. 3-5 years after Royal Sisters Tasha goes back to where it happened, originally it was because Mala was pregnant and the ghost was the only one with the knowledge to make sure she didn’t miscarry (Black magic yada yada) That’s no longer the case, but since the scene may still happen for other reasons. (And because Tasha would not leave me alone last night) I finished it. (As a bonus there’s two links in the body of the text that lead to sketches.) Enjoy. ^_^
The heavy door swung open almost silently as Tasha pushed it, the light from outside cutting into the gloom as Tasha walked into the black building. Head held high her black dress flowing around her like water. She dropped her bag, and a large scroll by the door. And waited.
“ ~ It’s been a long time little gift. ~ ”
A black flame flickered into existence in the centre of the room surrounded by a circle of white light. The flame grew in size and strength the closer Tasha walked towards it.
“ ~ A very long time. ~ ”
The door slammed shut, but it wasn’t totally dark, the hole in the ceiling had still not been fixed light shining down on the black rubble in the corner, but it was the ring of light in the center of the room that truly illuminated the room enough for Tasha to see.
When Tasha stopped a few paces from the ring of white light the flame roared swirling like a top and shooting up to the ceiling and black flaming hand reached for Tasha but something stopped the hand reaching her, it slashed the air before Tasha’s face.
Tasha didn’t step away but she did lean back.
“~ You’re not just here to taunt this old spirit again are you? ~”
Tasha fisted her hands and stepped over the runes carved in the stone, her dress brushing over and destroying the symbols that had been added by chalk.
“~ Good girl. ~”
She reached the centre of the markings, glancing sadly at the hole in the ceiling.
“ ~ Have you got nothing to say little gift? ~ ”
She took a deep breath.
“I am not your little gift anymore last of the wolves.”
The runes glowed white as a misty formless shadow rose from the floor. It’s swirled around her a hand taking shape and brushing Tasha’s cheek.
“ ~ Then why are you here? ~ ”
“It’s time for you to do be silenced.”
The black misty shadows laughed and twisted and danced and surged to the edge of the runes before rippling back and forming the shape of a black wolf.
“ ~ Question is, do you have the strength to silence me? ~ ”
The shadow-wrath rushed at Tasha throwing her over the runes and rushing past them as if they hadn’t blocked her moments before
Tasha landed on her back and opened her mouth to shout, only to be smothered by the shadow-wrath. It slowly dissipated leaving Tasha alone, lying on the black stone as if she was asleep. She rolled over onto her hands and knees coughing and gasping, eventually she opened her eyes, they were yellow.
“I guess you didn’t have the strength after all.” The spirit said though Tasha’s mouth.
Guess again
The runes started to glow purple.
“What…how…”
Tasha started walking back to the centre of the runes.
“What…no!” She shouted. “I’ve taken this body over, how can you-”
My body, my strength, you can’t steal it!
Tasha’s body shook as the two wills battled for control.
“Where did you get this strength?”
“I don’t feel like telling you.”
What are you going to do?
“I broke this seal once…now I’m going to re-forge it.”
Tasha fell to her knees, one hand clawing at the floor, the other at her throat.
“ ~ You can’t do that if you can’t breath. ~ ”
Kill me and you’ll never be free.
“ ~ If I don’t kill you, you’ll seal me away forever. ~ ”
Black lightening darted over Tasha’s body and both souls within screamed.
Back by the door there was a glow from within the bag Tasha had abandoned. Black mist crept out drifting over to the scroll, followed by quick flashing sparks of gold. The scroll quivered and started to unroll.
Tasha got stiffly to her feet and threw her head back, one eye was yellow. Her black dress started to flow around her as if caught in wind. She tore her headdress off glared at it.
The Possessed Tasha threw her arms to the side and lifted into the air her toes a full handspan off the floor as magic crackled and warped around her. This time she would make sure that there would be no way for Tasha to regain control.
She didn’t see the scroll slither it’s way under her carried by black mist and gold sparks.
The symbols on the paper glowed amethyst, garnet, topaz,
Tasha’s eyes, snapped open. “What?”
Emerald, sapphire, ruby, onyx.
“No!” Tasha growled as she fell to the ground with a thump, She brushed her hair out of her face, both eyes shining yellow.
The glowing runes grew brighter, Tasha looked up and glared at billowing black mist gathering of sparks.
“You.” Tasha growled.
The sparks flashed to show a teenaged hedgehog pup his eyes to sharp to be as young as he appeared.
“ ~ Never thought you‘d see me again did you? ~ ” Flen said, his grin wide a smug.
The mist coalesced into Pirit his three tails held up in aggression his arms crossed as he glared at the yellow eyed Tasha.
“ ~ Tasha knew she wasn‘t strong enough to fight you off a second time. ~ ” Pirit said. “ ~ Not alone anyway. ~ ”
The glow was growing brighter and brighter eventually the paper started to smoke.
“Let this continue and Tasha will be sealed here with me.”
“ ~ Already to late. ~ ” Flen said as Pirit moved to poke Tasha only for a ring of white light to block him.
The scroll started burning, and Tasha glared down at the flames. She knew that stamping on the flames would do no good. But that didn’t stop her from pulling up skirts to stop them catching alight too.
That was when she saw the runes painted on her feet and ankles. Her mouth opened and pulled up the decorative silk gantlets from her wrists to see more pained there, there was probably a ring of them around her neck too.
“No!” Tasha shouted as the last of the paper turned black the burnt symbols now glowing in the rock floor underneath a new ward to seal the last of wolf of wolf haven away forever.
The painted symbols on her feet then started to glow to, the symbols spreading up her legs under her dress down her arms and even scrolling and curling to cover her face, black smoke drifted from the glowing marks as the wolf spirit being forced out of her body.
Tasha collapsed to the ground, the smoke floating above her. Green eyes opened, widened and the fox rolled out of the new circle of symbols.
A wave of black tried to follow but crashed against the white light and was forced back on it self, it swirled up into the air and took the form of a black wolf.
“Never attack a stronger enemy without a trick up your sleeve.” Tasha said pushing the silk up her arms and watching as the glowing marks faded and the glittering black ink vanished into smoke.
“ ~ Do you think this will hold me forever! ~ ” The wolf spirit snarled.
“I think it will hold you long enough.” Tasha said walking around the seal to pick up her headdress before putting it back in her bag with Pirit’s mace and Flen’s quill ring.
Tasha pulled open the door, black mist and gold sparks exiting it with her before she closed it.
