And yet Dean was entirely okay with his life being a big mess of addictions. His biggest addiction, in the end, was taking care of Sam. It was almost ridiculous how much he enjoyed looking after Sam, not that he'd ever say that out loud.
"You're six." It was a weak comeback and soon enough he was being tackled backwards and the couch was abandoned. Arm still stretched as far as it would go, Dean wrapped a leg around Sam, pushing at his brother's shoulder with his free hand.
This was stupid. It was childish. But it was fun and it was a moment of just being them and for a minute they could pretend nothing bad was going on.
