Headmistress McGonagall,

Would it be alright if the students were to host a Beltane celebration on Saturday, the first of May? We would like to have dancing outdoors -- a May pole -- in the afternoon for all ages, and in the evening there would be an outdoor bonfire limited to the sixth and seventh year classes.

Additionally, as there have been no other incidents that might endanger our students, would it be possible to lift the curfew for this one evening, to allow students to remain outdoors until midnight, as long as they were in pairs or larger groups? Of course, we would expect that adult supervision would be on the grounds as well.

Mr. Longbottom,

I have taken your idea into consideration, and I think it is a fine idea for increasing student participation in inter-House activities. I can grant permission for this event to take place on the condition that planning and logistics fall to you, Mr. Longbottom, and whomever you choose to recruit to help you. Of course, all plans must be finalized through my office, and I expect to have a first-draft by next Monday, 26 April.

As a Seventh Year student, I also expect you to include a schematic of planned security spells used to ensure student safety, though the spell casting will of course be done by the staff.
