Enough already
Iris had enough. Steping off the small porch of her small home off the highway in Oklahoma. First the coup, then their powers went all out of whack and now things were back to normal but all the mortals seem to have been frozen in time. Normally, Iris was laid back and let those in charge do whatever they wanted without question but now that things were directly affecting her she was rapidly getting annoyed with them.

"POTHOS" she shouted wondering where her beautiful son was at, seeing as she hadn't seen him at the meeting at Dite's temple.

Waiting, she calls his name again finding it odd that he did not appear in anyway or form. Frowning she shuts her eyes and reaches out for her son, hoping that when she finds him, it won't be any sort of embarrassing situation. Instead, she feels absolutely nothing not even a faint trace of her son.

Worried now she quickly vanishes from the dry plains of Oklahoma and reappears in the front of Dite's temple, intent on getting some answers. Hurrying up the steps, she is quickly met by an attendant that informs her of Dite's absence. With a sigh, Iris wonders if anything is going to go her way today as she allows the attendant to show her into a sitting room to wait for the mistress of the temple.

"Do not hurt Strife, Ares. Do NOT hurt him..."

She offered a slight glare to him, hoping her admonishment would keep the punishment Strife was about to receive to a manageable minimum. There was no way to keep Ares completely off of Strife. "Iris has just shown up at my temple... She may be able to be of help."

She looked at Ares for a long moment, then nodded, deciding to trust him with this, and kissed his cheek. "I'll be back as soon as I can. If you find anything, let me know."

With that she disappeared, reappearing in her own temple and making herway quickly to the sitting room her guest waited in.

"Iris. Excellent timing you have... I need your help."

Iris hadn't expected Dite to appear so soon and she certainly didn't expect the request for help.

"My help?"

Iris looked at Dite for a moment and nodded.

"Of course, what can I do for you?"

She knew that it would be in her best interests to stay on Dite's good side, afterall if it weren't for her she'd still be playing messenger for Hera.

"I'd like to ask you, if you don't mind, to get a note to my wayward daughter, and Hymenaios... locating people offthe mountain isn't really my forte."

She took a seat and pulled stationary and a pen out of a drawer, waving for Iris to take a seat.

"fortuitous timing, as I said. What can I do for you?"

Iris, took her seat again while Dite prepared her note.

"I stopped by to see if you had a plan to reverse the side affects that are still lingering with some of us."

She shifted a moment in the chair before looking at Dite. Surely she'd understand Iris' controlled panic since she was also a mother.

"I can't seem to feel my son, it is like he vanished. Yet I do not feel the grief or heartache that I imagine would follow any sort of tragedy."

"You mean you don't find it rather convenient for everything to be stopped?"

She lifted a brow absently as she wrote, lifting her head to flash Iris a look.

"It's in the works, I assure you. My brother seems to be a bit of a megalomaniac since he's returned from tartarus, and feels democracy is the only way to choose a king. Once I figure out who the chosen are, We'll be able to get them to pick a king or three and we can all get on with life."

She finished her quick succinct notes and folded them shut, eyes narrowing as she heard that Iris could not locate Pothos.

"Vanished? Really. Tell me... How long will it take you to find Harmonia and Hymenaios?"

"It is rather frustrating, I had a bit of a party planned but my guest of honor I imagine is frozen somewhere with farm animals."

Iris stood and paced, not at all happy with the news Dite had shared. Chosen ones? Who had ever heard of such nonsense?

"Yes it's like someone has severed all my ties with him. Why would anyone do something so cruel as keep a mother from her son?"

Iris hoped that whoever was behind this found themselves in the bowels of Ares' temple in the near future.

"I do not know, I am hoping that the side affects are not that far reaching as to extend to all immortals."

"Unfortunately, this little game of Cronus was part of getting our powers righted... As frustrating as it is, I'd rather deal with this with a power I know then a world falling apart with a power foreign to me. I'm sure you understand."

She leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes, feeling for Pothos... he wasn't her child by blood, but was as close as one could be without that tie. With a growl, eyes flashing a stormy blue as they opened.

"I can't feel him either. Or Harmonia. Or Hymenaios. This has nothing to do with frozen mortals... Tell me you can find them, Iris."

Iris nodded, she too had hated the moments in time when she was her opposite. She watched silently as Dite attempted to find Pothos, surely she'd be able to find him. However, the moment she heard the growl she knew that Dite too had failed as well.

"This is completely unacceptable"

Taking a large breath and letting it out slowly, Iris closed her eyes and reached out searching for Harmonia and Hymenaios. She pressed and pressed forward with her energies, looking for that familiar ping when someone was located but there was nothing.

"They aren't there. I can't feel them. Why can't I feel our children?"

Opening her eyes she looks at Dite before sinking back into her seat.

She sighed, pressing her fingertips to her forehead.

"I do not know. I shall apologize now, to you, if this is another attempt at hurting me... there's no need for someone to involve you in whatever petty vengences they feel. And rest assured should I find whatever is causing this, and it turns out to be such a person? they will pay."

She stood abruptly.

"Ares is with Strife, who was with Harmonia. I think it needs to be established if anyone else is missing."

Iris stood as well.

"It appears as of right now that it is children who are missing"

However, the real question was if it was just Dite's offspring that were missing or others as well.

"Have you been able to locate your other children?"

Pothos was biologically an only child but he considered all of Dite's offspring as his siblings, just as much as he considered Dite to be a second mother which would make sense why he seems to be among the missing.

She closed her eyes again, quickly going though the other children and locating them.

"The rest are fine... I know where they all are. Pothos... I looked for him when before, and found him. It must have been very recent he... went off the grid, for lack of a better term. Of course... we say children, because we're their mothers. I almost hope this is a personal attack."

Iris ran a hand over her face, trying to keep her temper from flaring up. There would be time for that later, much later.

"So what do we do know?"

She couldn't just sit and wait until Pothos, showed back up on the grid. What if he was hurt? Or needed help?

"Do you think it would make any difference if I paid a visit to Cronus?"

"I don't think this is the work of Cronus."

She tapped her finger absently against pursed lips, working it over in her head.

"Cronus spoke of monarchies and kings. How could this have anything to do with that? While I don't know that it will work, I can't see how it could hurt. I think we need to determine if this problem is anymore widespread... without causing any sort of panic."

Iris nodded.

"I will pay him a visit right away and I will let you know if I encounter anyone else who have lost any of their children."

Rising she makes her way toward Dite to collect the letters she had written, just in case she came across the receipients in her travels.

She nodded, absently handed over the notes which had little more than a demand to return home on them.

"I am going to go back to Ares and Strife, and see if I can determine when and how it happened. Rest assured, Iris, that I will not stop until they are back. And that includes Pothos. If you find anything and I am not here, please leave a note."

She smiled at the other goddess, and leaned in to kiss her cheek.

"Thank you."
