New moon or not, she was prepared. She had gathered the materials she needed, Helios had been sent a message not to fly, Deimos had been warned not to do anything but watch, the scroll had been retrieved from Cronus...All that was left was execution. She still had her wirroes about trusting Cronus with something of such importm but his knowledge of spells far outstripped her own, and she gathered that of Hades and Ares as well.

She was on Cyprus, near a temple dedicated to her birth, having choses it as a place of hopefully neutral ground. She stood skyclad in front of a marble column, a copper bowl perched on top of it, a scroll hanging in the air beside her. She had taken the things she brought with her and situated them around the column - earth from Olympus, Stygian ore from Hades, Water from the sea, fire from the eternal flame kept at Hestia's hearth.

She lifted her arms to the moonless sky, witnessed only by the stars and her son, the words she chanted that of a greek considered ancient even to those on Olympus. One by one, in turn, she added the various elemental samples to the bowl... first earth, then sea, then underworld, then fire, bending lightly to blow on the mixture, adding air, the breath of the gods.

The words spoke of balance, of putting things to rights... they spoke of all three realms the gods had seperated into, and the world as a whole. The spoke of those chosen, youngest in each realm, symbols of those who would choose those who would lead. It spoke of ancient ideals, held high even now.

And as she spoke the air around her moved, the dark sky offering a strange glow, the waves of the sea crashing high on the nearby rocks.

There was no guess as to when the change happened - the earth lurched, and suddenly everything was calm - sea, earth, and sky.

The world of the gods had been put to right.

But for mortals, Time stood still.

Deimos watched with feigned indifference, fine lines forming at the corners of his mouth as his mother spoke the ceremonial words. Something about all this made him uneasy...

At first, it seemed as if nothing would happen. The air about them went still, and it took a moment for Deimos to realize it wasn't just the air. Still, everything was still. The land, the sky... even the sea. All unchaotic. Dei stood up suddenly, head tilting as if trying to hear through the overwhelming silence.

It was then that it hit him. The change, or whatever it was. Deimos just knew that something crashed into him, drew the breath out of his lungs and rearranged everything inside him. The sensation left in its wake such a feeling of rightness that the Daimon actually gasped out a small groan. He leant his body back against the now empty table, slender arms splaying out behind him to support his frame. Everything was settling into place, easing and painful, like a joint too-long popped out of socket.

"It worked..." Deimos said at last, not caring how still the world remained. All that mattered was that he was back to normal.. "..it really fucking worked.."

She was tired... it'd taken quite a bit out of her, moreso than she had expected. She took a deep breath in as she felt love return to her with an almost crushing force... there was something so .. whole-feeling being herself once more.

Stretching her back out a bit, she turned to face her son, a light grin playing across her lips as she moved forward, in search of her chiton.

"Did you really doubt me, baby?"

"Not you, Mummy, not for a second," Deimos replied, returning Dite's grin with one of this own. He couldn't stop himself from grinning wide and satisfied, straightening up to stretch his whole body out. The Daimon could feel the rush of Terror-inflicting power hum through his veins, and it was lovely and satisfying.

Moving forward, Deimos swooped in on Dite and wound his arms around her smaller figure, half-donned chiton and everything. He hugged her right up off her feet, and placed a kiss to the goddess's cheek, "You are the best Mum ever!"

After all, how many gods could say with certainty that their parents would take care of their problems for them?

She laughed as he spun her up and around, grin widening at his words of praise. Yes, it was great to know she was back to normal, and had fixed the power switch that afflicted everyone and all of that... but there was a special joy in knowing she helped her kids.

"And don't you forget that..."

Nudging him back lightly, she slid back to the ground and finished adjusting her chiton, grin fading a bit as their laughter lessened and she heard the sounds around them... or the lack of sound.

"Do you her that, baby?"

She canted her head toward where she should be hearing the tides shift, and heard nothing... after a moment, she walked the short distance to the cliff and looked down... even without the moon, the stars were bright enough for her to see the water was not moving.

"Oh, I am going to kill him. He's going to wish he never left Tartarus!"

Deimos followed Dite to the cliff edge, looking down on the still waters of the Cyprus shore with a grim expression on his face. The Daimon lofted an eyebrow slowly at his mum's outburst, lips pursing in a an effort of ill-retrained bemusement. Oh that Cronus, what a clever thorn in their side he was!

"What can we do, though. It is by his knowledge alone that we're normal again..." And Cronus seemed far too much a 'planner' to be caught unawares concerning their reaction or retaliation. Deimos furrowed his brow thoughtfully, interest piqued by this challenge...

"What can we do?"

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked him, shoulders straightening as her arms crossed over her chest... love goddess or war goddess, she wasn't one who took to being played with well.

"You may do whatever you like, darling... I imagine you and your brother have riots to start... I am going to Othrys to ask Cronus what it is he's doing here. I knew he'd be doing something, but this is a bit much."

Her eyes flashed lightly. "I will not be played a fool, brother or no. He'll tell me what it is he's got planned... And he'll hope he hasn't lied to me."

Deimos's eyebrows flicked upard, towards his hairline, and he looked pointedly at Aphrodite. After a moment, he said, "... you're hot when you're angry. Can I come with?"

Sure he had riots to start.. well, actually, he had prisoners of war to reduce to sobbing infants, but whatever. The point was, his mummy was angry, and whatever she did to Cronus was likely to be (A). Educational, (B). Entertaining to watch, and (C). Relevent to his continued existence as Terror. But mostly entertaining, really.

She smirked lightly. "Honey, I'm hot no matter what my mood is. Just one of the perks to being me."

She regarded him for a moment, studying his face as she thought over letting him come along, then nodded. Witnesses were never a bad thing... and Deimos was one who she knew wouldn't gossip where he shouldn't.

"A whole night of mother-son bonding. To think some families go bowling or something for thier fun..."

She hooked her arm through his, a wave of her hand vanishing the rest of the materials left over from the spell, sending them back to her home in Olympus. With another wave of her hand she had then standing inside a temple.

It was similar to her Olympian temple - white marble, clean lines, simple elegance... but it was smaller, homier. Before she had a family and a court, before there were three different rules of three different realms... this was where she lived.

"Welcome to Othrys. Let's go find Cronus..."
