She generally didn't think she looked much like her mother at all, but she supposed there were bound to be similarities.

"Thank you... I imagine there are far worse that I could take after." After all, she and her mother were more alike than either was usually willing to admit. "Yeah, I was shanghaied into dinner... It's nothing fancy, but you won't go hungry."

	Momos spotted Styx as soon as he left the kitchen, looking as bitchy as normal, and decided that annoying her would keep him in his good mood. He moved to start that when suddenly he was waylaid by his other bitchy sister. "Interesting? To you maybe. To me it was just annoying." He shot a tightlipped smile to Than, Kia, and Nom as he passed them before glaring down at Eris.

"A little louder why don't you? I don't think the whole party knows about Ate and me yet, so why don't you just let them all know in one swoop. And no, this hasn't been going on for years. Only recently has she finally responded to my advances, and I would appreciate it if you didn't fuck it up for me."

Considering he'd never FUCKED with her love life, just simply had issue with it? Her statements really weren't as valid as she seemed to think.

"Fucked with your love life? And I did that how? When I expressed my disapproval of your choice of lover? Or, I don't know, when I became hurt when my loving little sister choose an Olympian to replace me in her life? Last I checked, neither of those ruined your ability to continue seeing your lover. My intentions are between Ate and myself, as is our relationship. If you want to know how I feel about her. Ask her. She knows and it's up to her if she wants you to know more."

He yanked the plate out of her hand and dropped it back on the table as he walked away from her. Anger seethed out of him.

His eyes widened a little bit and fear danced around his heart. What? What was she asking? Why was she asking what he thought she was asking?

"Just...beautiful, She's beautiful...." he said vaguely and turned away from the table with his plate and unfortunately was not pleased with the view of Styx and started looking around for a place to sit.

Kia was going on about some biker and his eyebrows raised, "I remember seeing you yes. I didn't know he was murdered over you. I was quite busy that night and didn't have much time to spare to chat and he was hostile. I transformed him into a moth and that was it until we arrived on the banks of..."

He looked sharply back in the direction of his sister, "Styx."

Dysnomia looked around at all the other party guests. As much as she liked chatting with Limos, she had to mingle, because that was what you did at parties. There were gods here who she hadn't seen in an absolute age! He'd get over it. Besides, they were going for sheftalia later. They could chat all they wanted to then. But for now...

Oooh, Momos was here! And Styx! Weird! And...

"Than-Than!"

With her bag swinging from her arm, Dysnomia skipped across the garden and latched onto her uncle Death. "You're not dead today! You look alive! Is it the spell? It's made you look pink!"

His view of Styx was distracted by the fiery red hair that bounded out in front of him with an excited voice exclaiming the shorting of his name x two and the latching onto his waist with obvious statements.

"No, I'm never dead, I'm Death," he mentioned, hoping that would clear up the misunderstanding.

"Yes, yes the spell---has put the life colour into my complexion."

He swallowed looking down at her, "You seem lively..."

She sighed. He wasn't giving up anything gossip worthy, damn it.

"Yeah, he didn't have to kill his brother. I'd have done them both."

Kia noticed the dirty looks Than was shooting at Styx and was about to ask him about it before Nom rushed up and hugged him. She simply grinned at Thanatos' expression. Her sister could make staid grown men like Thanatos cry for their mommy.

It would be interesting to watch.

She took a step back to look at her uncle. "It has! You look normal now! Not like a corpse at all!" She moved a little closer, looking at him in a concerned manner. "Does it feel strange? Are you coping with not being a scary death?"

At his lively comment, Dysnomia beamed. "I'm Dysnomia! I'm lawlessness, but only when I'm not under a spell!"

Kia's "done them both" comment turned his head away from what he'd been looking at briefly. He gave her an incredulous look and wondered if Kia had not been considered for erotica before she was given injustice.

He had once saw a cartoon about an amorous skunk, whose name he couldn't remember, chasing a cat that was trying to elude the skunk's affections. On that occasion he'd collected a sick child named Ruby whose fever returned fiercely and was unfortunate. Ruby told him about the cartoon while he sat beside of her on the couch. With Dysnomia holding onto him so tightly, he thought he knew what that cat felt like. He probably had the same look of fearful desperation plastered on his face. His heart was pacing swiftly.

Creepy? He frowned.

"Coping? I think I am yes, but I'll have a lot of work to do when the spell is broken."

He would have tried to pry her hands off him, but he was a bit paralyzed by her death grip. She was honestly like a constrictor. He thought of just asking her to loosen her grip.

"I really only wanted to give something to Ate, and talk to Elpis... but she's not here. I hope she's ok..."

She was going to feel pretty bad if Elpis was missing this party because she'd sent her off on a wild goose chase to find her son... before she had better information.

"But I suppose we should greet my mother, and Nyx and Reb..."

All of whom were busy talking to others, and Lethe really did hate to interrupt. Still, Ate was talking to Nyx and Reb, so that was sort of killing three birds with one stone. Having made up her mind, no matter how tentatively, she led the way further into the party towards their grandparents.

	He didn't want to pry, he figured he had spent enough time prying when he had to work with putting together their dreams. Morpheus followed her toward their grandparents and Ate. No cake? How could you have a whatever this was without a cake? A party without cake was like a darkless night. He sulked and watched Lethe, which was one he definitely recognized because she actually stayed in the Underworld unlike most of his grandchildren, approach. And there was Hypnos' boy, Morpheus, with her...that one he knew too. Two good ones there. They knew were they were from and weren't off trying to do whatever Eris accomplished in leaving the Underworld in the first place.

"Hello there younglings! It's good to see a few I recognize without the eye strain."

Her smile was saccharine as she took half a step back, allowing Morph and Lethe room to make their greetings, tugging her sister in for a quick kiss against her brow. "You ok?"

Nyx returned the greeting to both of the kids, offering them warm smiles... they were good kids. Quiet. Non-confrontational... unlike Ate, who seemed to be searching for buttons to push. Perhaps she took after Eris more than was really beneficiary... but mentioning the cake was particularly snippy. Placing a calming hand on Reb's arm, she turned her attention mostly to the other two.

"It's good to see you both, too. I imagine you're looking forward to returning home as much as we are..."

Lethe scowled at Ate for a quick moment as she moved out of the embrace. Was she really going to be all egobitch tonight? Really? "I"m fine. Remind me I have something to give you for Anteros, before you go?"

She looked back at her grandparents, nodding lightly at Nyx's question.

"Yes and no..."

Morpheus was a little surprised that Ate was actually making an effort to incite the old divinity in their presence. Reb and Nyx weren't the coolest people you could have in your company and offensive as Reb could be at times, Morpheus didn't think he actually meant anything by it, (Hah--Little Red.)

He looked kind of depressed when they were asked about how they probably couldn't wait to return to the Underworld, not because he didn't want to, he wanted to more than almost anything, but because it meant saying goodbye to Lethe again. They lived closer than they ever did before and yet further away; what did distance matter when you couldn't remember who you moved to get closer too?

"Looking forward to it," he smiled at them and then faced Lethe.

"I'm going to let youse guys talk," he spoke of her and Ate.

"I'll get us something to drink and be waiting over there," he gestured toward an empty table with some chairs.

He looked back at their grandparents, "It's nice of Eris to throw this for little get together for youse guys. It's good to see youse again. If I don't get the chance to talk to you again tonight, I'll see youse again when everything is back ta normal. Enjoy your night."

Again he briefly kissed Nyx's cheek and took Reb's hand warmly and then immediately set out to isolate himself from questions about things returning to the way things were.

With a frown she looked down at her leg, which Lethe...s he asumed Lethe, although the girl was looking rather innocent, had just kicked her. "What?"

Lethe offered a stern look and a shake of her head. "Ate... really. This is a party."

"Oh, please, Lethe... All I'm saying is maybe... Just maybe, if Mr. I don't recognize my grandchildren here ever bothered to get to know us, maybe I would have known and cared that he liked cake in the first place. Think about it." She offerd a pointed look and turned away, moving over toward Limos, leaving Lethe with her grandparents.

"I'm sorry... I don't know what was all about..."

She shook her head, offering them both an apologetic smile, a bit amused at the completely unfazed look on Nyx's face... she imagined her grandmother had dealt with worse than Ate's anger.

"The And? Oh, well... It's nice to be able to remember things... and there's a lot of stuff I seemed to have forgotten that I really do miss. So I want to go home, and all of that... but I already know I'm going to lose a lot."

She glanced over her shoulder to offer Morph a smile, then looked at Reb.

"Still, it'll be nice to know everyone else is back to normal. Poor Thanatos..."

Reb stared at Ate and watched the exchange between Ate and Lethe so passively he could have been a wall until Ate's later comment and then he just looked vexed.

"Oh I think it was about what she said it was about Dearie Girl...but don't you bother your pretty little head over it, because if she wants me to get to know her better? I'll do. Won't I Peaches?"

He listened to the rest of what Lethe had to say, feeling somewhat bad for her memory problem, but he really didn't know what any of them could do about it, "That is unfortunate."

He glanced back to Thanatos, "Yes, poor him, but why white?"

Nyx blinked slowly, a bit bemused at the outburst.

"Well. I remember her being a bit more cheerful as a child, really."

She waved away Lethe's apology It wasn't her fault her sister lacked decorum. she was, however, unable to hide the smile that Reb's ~~threat~~ promise produced. "I'm sure you will, love..."

Nodding lightly at Lethe's explanation, she commented "I can see how you might feel that way, dear. Still..."

She trailed off a bit, not sure what to say at that point. She liked her granddaughter, sure... but Lethe remembering things was not worth being this bright. She spared a glanced toward Thanatos, noting Dysnomia attached to his waist. "That's the one I told you about dear..."

"The white? Probably the heat. He came to see me while I was at Mnemosyne's, and seemed a bit unsure of how to be... not-death. I know you're all... well." She shrugged, knowing no polite way to put it. "Bright? But I think he's got a lot more physical changes going on. It shouldn't be long though, or so the rumor goes... Not long at all."

She was a bit morose about that, really. Her eyes caught something as she was looking back from Thanatos to her grandparents, and she smiled, moving to stand along side Reb, pointing idly at the food table... where there was, it seemed, something chocolate. "Look..."

Raising his brow at the red head attached to Thanatos, "She certainly is attached to him..."

"The heat--I didn't think of that Lethe," it did explain quite a bit.

The longer he looked at Thanatos and Dysnomia.

"Spook looks a bit...spooked, but you know he was always like that around girls when he was a child. He'd literally run away from some of his sisters, remember him doing that Luvy?"

And then Lethe was distracting him to the table and he grabbed ahold of the edge of her garment, "Is that what I think it is...Is that...cake?"

He hoped it wasn't a hallucination, but it could be; you never knew how all this brightness would affect you.

Eris smirked at her brother's reaction, the ability to cause trouble warring with the internal infernal need to get along, both overshadowing the niggling feeling of hurt. Replace him with an Olympian? Is that what he thought she did? That was the stupidest thing she ever heard of. And she should go talk to Ate about this, should she? She could do that.

She watched as her eldest stalked away from her father and stepped forward to meet her mid-step, sliding an arm around her waist as she moved them both in a different direction toward the hedge wall.

"Yes, Eris?"

"So I was talking to my brother."

"So I saw. And?"

"And he says that you instigated that little display."

"Mm. Why, am I grounded?"

"Hardly. I'm just surprised."

Ate nodded lightly, turning to face her mother, arms crossed over her chest somewhat defensively. Was she really going to do this? She was. She rolled her eyes lightly before answering. "Not to be rude, Eris... But I'm not sure what's it to you, exactly."

"Can't I be curious?"

"Sure. Just not sure why you're starting now."

"There was nothing to be curious about before now."

"Ahh."

She frowned, wondering not for the first time if her children were some sort of punishment for how she treated her own parents... but then, she'd been a perfectly well behaved child... all things considered. "You're so difficult. Momos says if I want to know his intentions, I should ask you."

"Really. To my knowledge, his intentions seem to be to get me naked, often, and have his way with me in many different ways."

Eris scrunched her nose lightly. "And you're ok with that."

"I haven't decided yet."

"I see."

"Do you want to sign my permission slip?"

"Don't be insolent. I just wonder about the complete change in character. You usually shun that sort of thing."

"And you're usually asleep."

"Touché"

Eris threw up her hands, her daughter's rising wall of defiance aggravating. "Dammit, Ate... I am trying, here. You pushed me away. Don't you dare turn around and turn this on me, and make me feel like some sort of meddling busybody for caring a little bit..."

Ate froze mid-nod, paling slightly as she took a moment to take stock of Eris words, jaw tightening before she spoke. "Maybe you're right. But you let me. Go back to your party, Eris. We're not having this talk now."

"You say that a lot. When are we having it?"

"Never, if I can help it."

Eris placed a hand on her hip as she watched Ate walk away, teeth biting lightly at the nail of her finger. First Momos, then Ate... She might as well go talk to Styx if everyone was just going to yell at her all day...
