Adenah needed a break from her reality, which at this point, was more like a fantasy to everyone else...or nightmare, depending on how you looked at it. Yesterday had been the most stressful day of her life in a long time. There were now more scouts, people were starting to talk about girls in colored uniforms with powers, and...the bodies. Those shriveled bodies were going to be burned into her mind forever. So, she took a trip into the reality of everyone else, and did something normal on her Saturday. She went shopping. Shopping cured everything, right? Right.
The morning she had informed her mother that she was taking the credit card, and going crazy. Her mom, still half asleep from a video shoot she had been working at the other night, waved her on, mumbling something about having fun, and to be careful. Apparently her mother hadn't turned on the Television to watch the news just yet. It anyone had to be careful, it was her mom, Dee could hold her own.
At this point in time, she already had an impressive amount of shopping bags by her feet. She was currently standing in an accessory store, trying on some hats and picking up some earring to go with her new outfit. Two girls walking by in the store made her pause for a minute.
"I was there, it was terrifying."
"So was I, but did you see those girls?"
"Yea...that first one to show, said her name was Sailor Mars. I don't know what to think of that. What's next, vampires?"
She watched the girls through the mirror she was standing in front of until they walked out of the store and disappeared around the corner. People were staring to notice them. Was this ok? She couldn't remember. Well, they were bound to pick up attention, and Dee could only hope no one clued in to who they were.
Vampires...she'd rather face Foxglove a hundred times than dealing with vampires. Though they were supposed to burn up with fire, right? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Amused, Dee didn't bother to hide the smile on her face as she adjusted on of the hats she had chosen on her head, trying to decide if she could buy it or not. Shaking her head, she put it back, and then reached for another one. After a few minutes of judging, she nodded, and then took that, and the jewelry she had picked out to the cashier. A few minutes later, she was rung through, and her new items were in another bag.
Sighing, Adenah looked up and down the mall. Time for a break, she thought. Bags in hand, she made her way to the food court on the top floor. Fifteen minutes later, she was sitting down with a Garden Salad, and a large red slushie in front of her. The slushie sort of canceled out the salad, but the way Dee looked at it, she damn well deserved that slushie, and she was going to enjoy it.
Relaxing in her chair she shoved most of her bags under the table, keeping them as close to her as possible. Staring on her food, she lilted her head to look out at the foot court as she ate, eyes scanning the faces of people there, just in case there was an odd chance she knew someone. The place sure was crowded, there was bound to be someone. After this, she'd go and buy herself a nice new nose ring...and a belly button ring...and she had been debating getting her ears done again...though her mother might kill her for that one.
