Who: Harley Quinn
Where: Pam's apartment, Gotham
When: June 18, 2010
Summary: Harley learns that her BFF Red will never get a-head in life now.
Harley was enjoying her solo run of Ivy's apartment. It provided her with just the opportunity she needed to test out her rollerblade dance routine to one of the greatest songs of the decade. She rounded the corner from the bedroom to the living room/makeshift laboratory, belting out the chorus to Party in the USA.
"So I put my hands up, they're playin' my song, the butterflies fly away," she spun once before the television set, ignoring the boring news reporter on the screen. "I'm noddin' my head like 'Yeah!' Movin' my hips like-Red?" The headphones came down as a picture of her green skinned friend appeared. Despite the stop to the song, the wheels on her rollerblades continued to move forward.
"The studio first received reports of Miss Isley's death yesterday from various witness and since then, photo and video evidence have surfaced. The following footage may be disturbing to some viewers."
Harley tumbled over her wheels as the choppy camera phone video was broadcasted. Ivy's bright, red hair was easy to spot, as was the dark shadow of the B-Man that swooped in upon her. The camera in hand shook, but it captured the sickening squelch and spray of green to come from Ivy's location. "Red?" she muttered pitifully at the television screen, her face now pressed against the glass. Her hand reached up, scraping desperately at the screen as the footage ended and the reporter returned. The woman's voice was lost on the blond as a chill set in to the pit of her stomach.
That had been Ivy.
Ivy was her best friend.
And now she was gone.
A stream of tears erupted and Harley cried out in anguish. "RED! I'M SORRY, RED! IT WAS MY FAULT YOUR FICUS DIED!" Her body toppled back and she curled her knees into her chest, shaking. "Don't go, Red..." she pleaded. "I need you."
