Who: Cheshire and the Riddler
Where: (Disposable) Phones
When: May 6
Summary: Cashing in a favor

The number that he had given her was probably fake, but Cheshire still keyed in the numbers on a disposable phone and pressed the green button. And if he somehow tried to trace her call, he would see that the phone was registered to a Ms. Jenny Summers. It was best to be paranoid when dealing with Gotham loonies.

She waited for the skinny man to pick up his phone while she watched a busty redhead forecast the weather on the muted TV. It was that sort of day.

Sometimes the best place to hide is in plain view. While the Joker was still at large in Gotham, Eddie was determined to stay as far away from that city as possible. The Riddler and chaos did not mix. His home away from home, so the speak, was Star City, and the difference between the two places was like night and day. Quite literally.

The ring tone of Eddie's disposable cell phone while he was cruising along the highway in a rental convertible, with the top down. For 'business' purposes, Eddie kept these phones on hand, and only gave the numbers out to a select few. So, even though he didn't know exactly who was calling, there was only a limited number of options and could make an educated guess before rummaging through the satchel lying in the passenger seat beside him, picking up the phone and answering it, still driving with one hand on the steering wheel.

"What can I do for you?"

Cheshire shifted her attention from the supposed rainy skies over Gotham forecast to the voice on the phone. She did not start with small talk or linger on unnecessary how-are-yous--as if she cared if he was feeling fine or not.

"I want to you to do something for me." she said, drawing out the 'do'.

Then she paused and waited for a reply.

The number wasn't recognized, but Eddie sure as hell could recognize the voice, and he knew that Cheshire was collecting on her 'favor'. Suddenly, he became very serious: Cheshire was somebody not to be trifled with.

Focusing on the road, he continued to speak to her, "And what would that be, pray tell?"

The immediate reply was a chuckle that sounded borderline psychotic. On her end of the phone, Cheshire licked her lips before continuing.

"I need a computer hacked. And a message delivered. Then a fake sum of money transferred into a bank account." she said. By then, she had switched over to a muted rerun of Lost. "It should be fairly easy for you."

The chuckle didn't frighten Eddie as much as it put him on edge - the kind of alertness that comes when you're anticipating something very bad to happen, followed by a rush of adrenaline. For all he knew, the clever bitch could've arranged for him to be poisoned, long distance. It was that kind of laugh.

Damn it. He should've never asked Cheshire for a favor. But there was no other alternative, at the time.

The task was ridiculously easy. So easy, in fact, that Eddie considered it an unfair exchange, but since he was the one getting off easy, he wasn't going to admit that.

"Details, my dear," he said, albeit cautiously. "Just give me the details, including a date you want it by, and it's as good as done."

One thing could be said about Cheshire--she would never admire or like anyone who did not have confidence in himself or herself, which was why she rather approved of the Riddler's reply.

However, Cheshire was still more than a little doubtful of his skills. Oh sure, she knew that he could hack into the Secret Six's system easily, but would he be able to do without leaving a trail? She wasn't sure. Cheshire did not voice out her concern, instead, she answered him.

"I'm sure you know of the Secret Six? I need to you to hack their system, and put me through without compromising my location. I will be masquerading as Mockingbird while I communicate with their leader. All the relevant details can be found in a downloadable file." Cheshire said and conveyed the link address.

"And while you're at it, wire a fake $500,000 transaction into their account."

OOC: File includes everything Cheshire knows about the Scandal Savage, Mockingbird and how the mission debriefings go.

Little did Cheshire know that before he made his initial appearance as a masked criminal in Gotham, Eddie had been secretly hacking into multiple banks, stealing from bank accounts and building up a treasury with which he could purchase the materials needed to set up his riddles and for his elaborate traps. This was in addition to manipulating governmental sites, including the police, all without being detected. For years. What Cheshire had requested was old hat.

With a mind like a steel trap, Eddie remembered the information without needing to write it down. "I'll check out the info," he told her, confidently. "When do you need all this done?" She hadn't answered this question the first time he asked.

"Friday noon." Cheshire answered curtly.

Despite still harboring her doubts, she kept it quiet and instead convinced herself that all she had heard about the Riddler was true and that he was as good as they said. She kept quiet about her motives, for she did not want the Riddler knowing more than he ought to.

Cheshire had not decided if she wanted to involve him further and risk being betrayed by the rogue.

"You got it," Eddie replied. As soon as he returned home, he'd get to work. He was a little curious about her motivations, but decided it would be prudent not to delve deeper. This was Cheshire he was working with, after all. The reputation she had was enough to stifle his usual inquisitive nature.

"When it's done, I'll contact you to let you know. Otherwise, expect it to go up at noon, this Friday."
