With any hope, you're not reading this, and you're enjoying cocktails with some cute blond who just loves fireworks. Sadly, I'm on call for the next 24 hours and am thusly unable to properly celebrate our great nation.

But drinks aren't the reason for this email. I had something of an odd request. It's regarding your son, Damian. You probably remember that I wasn't always the most even tempered child, and I don't know why but he's been on my mind lately. I have a new project that will be keeping me in the Gotham area more often, and I was wondered if (with your blessing) I might be able to talk with him from time to time. I guess it's just something I wish I had when I was his age.
