Who: The Huntress & Red Hood Where: Gotham When: July 2, 2010 Summary: Helena reflects on her past. Red Hood arrives to stop her thoughts just in time.
Helena was volatile, a dangerous force on the edge of an emotional tidal wave. All of her anger stemmed from a single point in a life, a situation that she had had no control over. Her entire family had been slaughtered eighteen years ago this month and the killer was still at large. She had connections, ideas of who had been responsible, but in the mafioso there was never a single hand at work.
Though her blood cried for revenge, she could not spend every waking night sneaking through the city, avoiding the eyes of those who saw her as a danger. Tonight was a time of reflection, a rare break to remember all she had lost and what she had yet to gain.
Her feet swayed over the edge of the large billboard for Gotham's prestigious (and crooked) Iceberg Lounge. The sign itself gave view to a city that, above the streets, appeared quiet. Though she knew that peace was unheard of in Gotham, it was nice to pretend, if just for a moment. She closed her eyes and tried to relax, spinning a lone crossbow bolt between her fingers to occupy her fidgeting digits.
