Valentine's Day, when everyone in love were happily showing their partners that, and the rest of the world sang sappy love songs. Muggle and Wizard alike, who didn't love Valentine's Day?
Hermione Granger, for one. Mainly because...how could you love a day about love when you weren't in love?
She had been wandering around Diagon Alley after work, nmot really wanting to go home and not really wanting to have to face what she was sure was some horribly overblown dinner with Ron, complete with roses (a flower she really wasn't all that fond of) and attempting to dodge Ron's rather juvenile attempts to get her into bed. Again. She ducked into the Leaky Caldroun when she couldn't take the pointing, staring and people asking for her autograph. That all killed her; she wasn't an important person that way, why ask her to sign scraps of parchment?
She ordered a gillywater at the bar and sat, hoping just to melt into the background. |
