who Michael and... Anyone... please
where Flourish and Blotts

Sometimes Ravenclaws needed a book break. Other people needed coffee or alcohol or quidditch (well, all right, Michael could have used a good pick up game, but there weren't very many to play with in Hogsmeade), most Ravenclaws needed books. Michael and Anthony's room was nearly full of books, and Michael had taken to rotating their stock with his bookshelves at his parents house. He'd just finished his last, though, and there was nothing appealing in his bookshelf. He didn't feel right borrowing books from Hogwarts library anymore, so he'd given in to the need to apparate to Flourish and Blotts after work to replenish their book choices.

He pushed open the door and stepped out of the way, between the shelves, before pausing to inhale sharply. Paper and ink and newly unread books. He could never get enough of that smell. It was just as good as the smell of ancient tomes. He couldn't wipe the contented smile off his face as he began wandering up and down the aisle. Occasionally, he would reach out, fingers brushing against a spine almost tenderly, as he considered selecting a book, but he invariably moved on. He had plenty of time to wander and make the perfect selections.

The Other Has Arrived Feb. 26th, 2008 @ 08:18 pm
who The Other

It was dark out, peaceful. The wind was blowing gently, causing the leaves to chatter to one another. The world was sleeping. Now was the time for the Other to make himself known.

He pulled the cloak closer to his body, blocking out the winter chill hanging in the air. Godric's Hollow. This was where it all began many years ago; this was where it would begin again. His name would be known. His name would be feared, and the others, the ones who were sleeping, would be the ones who feared him.

Somewhere on the other side of the village a dog was barking, and the crickets were punctuating the silence between its howls. He drew his wand, spun it deftly between his fingers. First the dog fell silent, and then the crickets - they could sense the power being drawn to him, and they were not stupid enough to challenge it.

They would see his symbol upon awaking, those who were sleeping, and they would know fear. He had not been defeated... not by a mere child. He raised his wand to the sky and pronounced clearly, "Morsmordre." Green lit up the sky and the surrounding area just before the Other disappeared... and the terrified screams began.

Who: Padma Patil, Morag Macdougal
When: Today
Where: The Leaky Cauldron
Rating: G
Status: Incomplete

Padma had been putting off having lunch with Morag for long enough. She knew part of the reason she was doing so was that she really didn't want to talk about Theodore. Theo Nott, who she had seriously thought she was 'falling' for, and who had all but ignored her since the Battle...just before it, to tell the truth. She didn't want to think about the hurt, so she threw herself into work.

She'd sent Morag an Invitation for lunch at the Leaky; she only hoped that her friend had the time to meet her.

Fred was sitting on the barstool he had placed behind the counter, resting a bit. The shop had been slow that day, and George had left to go get some supplies for a new product idea they wanted to try out. He wasn't exactly happy about how he still didn't have all of his old energy back, even though the Healers told him that it would take some more time. If there was one word that would describe Fred, it was impatience.

Sighing, he looked up at the clock, and smiled. Only half an hour before closing time, then he could go and start dinner. Not that he could cook at all, but this would be his first time in the kitchen in months.

who Aberforth and Padma
when 18 Feb 1999; around noon
where Gringott's in Diagon Alley
what Aberforth has errands to run
rating PG-13

Aberforth had left Anthony alone at the Hogs Head. He wasn't really sure how wise it was to do that, but it wasn't as if the boy could get into too much trouble. It was noon. The Hogs Head was nearly empty at noon... well, it was nearly empty most of them time, but noon on a weekday was extremely slow. He used to skive off and run errands with no one at the bar and not worry. Why was he worried with it being watched?

Grumbling to himself as he apparated to Diagon Alley, he began to lumber down the crowded business district of wizarding London. He needed to drop off some money and pick up some more, and he needed to see if everything had been approved for the restoration of the old Dumbledore property in Godric's Hollow. He was thinking about retiring back home, putting up a little goat pin out back and relaxing. Merlin knew he deserved it.

He was so lost in thought on his way to the wizarding bank he wasn't really watching where he was going. That didn't prevent him from blaming the other person when they collided, though. "Oy... watcher yer goin'," he snapped.

Who: Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini
When: sometime in the afternoon Feb 15th, 1999
Where: Blaise's place
Rating: PG
Status: Incomplete

Draco had sent an owl off to Blaise, telling him to expect him sometime in the afternoon. It wasn't much of a surprise that it was Blaise who Draco had decided to see next, now that he was free. He was still in a bit of surprise that he'd managed to pull the wool over Blaise's eyes for so long while they were still at school. Or, had he? Draco wasn't quite sure. Blaise always saw more than he ever let on, and it would be foolish of him to assume that he'd been hoodwinked. Maybe Blaise had only chosen to turn a blind eye for his own reasons.

All of these things mulled in Draco's mind as he apparated to the spacious Zabini residence, and knocked on the door, waiting to be admitted.

Valentine's Day, when everyone in love were happily showing their partners that, and the rest of the world sang sappy love songs. Muggle and Wizard alike, who didn't love Valentine's Day?

Hermione Granger, for one. Mainly could you love a day about love when you weren't in love?

She had been wandering around Diagon Alley after work, nmot really wanting to go home and not really wanting to have to face what she was sure was some horribly overblown dinner with Ron, complete with roses (a flower she really wasn't all that fond of) and attempting to dodge Ron's rather juvenile attempts to get her into bed. Again. She ducked into the Leaky Caldroun when she couldn't take the pointing, staring and people asking for her autograph. That all killed her; she wasn't an important person that way, why ask her to sign scraps of parchment?

She ordered a gillywater at the bar and sat, hoping just to melt into the background.

Justin had a long day at work. The Slytherin Common rooms were at least sealed off, and the long process of making sure it was secure was beginning. It had been a long week and Justin thought that taking a break from studying to have a few pints certainly wouldn't be frowned on. He usually wore Muggle clothes on the weekends, so he definitely looked different in the wizarding pub, with his grey jumper and pullover, with his worn out jeans and trainers. Different, but not our of place. Not if the general crowd acclimation was any indication. He made his way over to the bar, pulling a couple of gold Galleons out of his pocket. "A round on me for the house,," he said as he placed the coins near to the bartender. "Give me a pint, could you? Thanks."

Padma was laying on her bed, reading her Charms textbook and waiting. Besides Morag wanting to speak with her, she was sure that the Headmaster, and the Assistant Headmaster and Mistress would soon be looking to her and Ernie for answers on who wrote that message near the Great Hall. Answers that she knew she would have to lie about to keep the DA safe. She wasn't sure how much longer they would accept her answers, though. Yes, she was a pureblood and she had been taking Theo's advice in that regard, reminding the Carrows of that when they spoke with her; it seemed to stay their had...but then they would take their frustration out on other students.

She shook her head. She couldn't keep falling into these bouts of pessimism. It wouldn't help with this talk with Morag. Somebody had to stay level-headed, and that's what everyone expected of her.

Who: Anthony the Angry & Michael the Not-So-Much
When: After the graffiti incident, sometime Sunday
Where: Corridors
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete!

It was a weekend and that meant that Anthony wasn't getting out of bed for anything. When he had an opportunity to sleep in, he usually took it. However, that also meant that he not only missed breakfast, but also found out later than most of the school about the graffiti in the Entrance Hall. Sure, it had been talked about at the meeting, but, well, he knew who had done it. Talking about it in the meeting was one thing, but... Suddenly changing his mind about going to get food in the Great Hall, he turned around and instead went looking for Michael.

Finding him wandering one of the corridors, possibly heading back towards the Common Room or Library or somewhere, Anthony came up behind him and promptly sent a none-too-playful punch at Michael's arm. "Why did you do that?" He kept his voice low, even though they were currently alone in the corridor.
