Hello friends! As if my prolonged AWOL hadn't been enough of an indicator, this is my official notice of hiatus! I've been in the process of moving and still have some things to figure and sort out.
Ugh I miss you all terribly and can't wait to get back to playing with all of you and getting Jo properly introduced into the game.

Hey guys I really haven't done this yet but I think I'm going to need to take a hiatus because shit is getting real and I need some room to breathe and I am freaking out because I have so much stuff to get done and yeah. So. I will probs be gone from today till after the 23rd of August although I might check in just to see what's up, commentate, etc until then.

Hey guys! It’s that time of the year when a girl’s fancy turns to sunscreen, suitcases, and places anon. Two of your mods are going to be on hiatus very soon (one starting tonight, actually!), so one figures that the lot of you might want to know what’s up, right? RIGHT!
Anyway, as the contact the mod page would report, Allison will be gone from 24 July to 3 August and Cassie will be gone from 27 July to 14 August! As you can tell, there’s going to be a little bit of overlap between Cassie’s departure and Allison’s return, so Saint Angela of Pittsburgh will be manning the fort by herself (with a little help from a friend, if sources have told the author correctly!) for a few days. During those days, we ask that you are kind to poor Angela. She is a gentle soul who only wishes to hug Tina Fey one day, so tread upon her lightly.
That being said, everything should be as per usual for the game during our absence! If you need us, just e-mail and we’ll get to it… albeit slowly. Much love to you all!

Hello everyone ~
My name is Michelle, and I am a brand new shiny player to the MP sandbox! I've been reading posts and such for a while, and finally decided it was time to make an application :)
This is here is John K. Fitzgerald, but you can call him Fitz. He's the anchor (and managing editor) of NBC Nightly News, so he'll probably be a familiar face to most if your character watches the news that isn't CNN-A? He's originally from Massachusetts, and the Fitzgeralds are a pretty large and influential family in that state, as well as on the federal level (he has a father and brother in Congress, as Senator and Representative of Massachusetts, respectively), a la the Kennedys.

Plots of all kinds are very much welcome - he has rebel sympathies/leanings, so if anyone wants to get their stories across (why hello there, NYU students and funding crisis), Fitz is your man.

Sup, dudes. Mike here with my second character.
This fellow's name is Owen Callahan, he is almost twenty-five years of age, and he originally hails from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His childhood was kind of messed up - his parents only got married because his mom got pregnant, and she left his dad before he was a year old. His mom is kind of crazy and his dad was only a few steps above a deadbeat when he was growing up. He caused a lot of trouble as a kid, which mostly stopped when he got into wrestling. He wrestled throughout middle school, high school, and college, and was a three-time All American at the University of Iowa.
He also got into mixed martial arts in high school and started training in that for fun. It wasn't until he graduated college and had trouble finding a job that he began to take it seriously; a few years later and he's now fighting in the UFC. He also works at a fitness center in Manhattan as his "day job".
Owen is a pretty chill dude who is generally just looking to have fun. He's not especially bright, but he means well. He's really into self-improvement of all kinds and is kind of a student of Eastern religions and mysticism and such, even though he doesn't really understand any of it.
I'm drawing a blank on what else to write, so I'll just march along: I'd love to hear from everyone with any possible interactions, friendships, etc. He might know people through his day job; people who pay attention to MMA might know his name; Tegan is his half-sister, so anyone who's friendly with her might know him as well.

I know, guys, I know: this post is really late. But in the defense of the poster, it’s better late than never! Anyway, for your characters’ reference, here are the “winners” for last Monday’s primary elections. For our lovely playable characters who have won their elections, we’ll just give you a link to their journals; conversely, for the districts that don’t have any PCs campaigning, we’ve cooked up some NPCs that are expected to be “front-runners” in your district’s campaign.

Hey guys! It's Rhia here with my third char. :D
This is Tegan Altschul. Vital information for your everyday life: she's the 20 year old jammer for the New York Nightsticks and she is insanely friendly/happy-go-lucky. She was born in Bangor, ME but she lived in Germany for a while, as her mom and step-dad were German ex-pats. She has a little bit of an accent and really wants to be back home, but she was stranded in the US while visiting her dad. She has an older brother who's also an athlete. She'll be super nice to, like, everyone. She likes telling jokes, partying, and playing ze rollerball. She makes a decent amount of money off the sport aaand has no idea what to do with most of it. She likes getting tattoos and going out on the town~ She goes to a lot of concerts, so some of you musician types might know her from that. Speaking of plot, friends? She needs a lot of those. Also, people who think she's annoying are more than welcome. Maaaaybe some people recognize her from being a ~professional~ athlete? Also, she needs a roommate. You know you want your char to live with this lovable lady. RITE RITE? :*

Hey guys! As the graphic above may infer, today was Special Primary Election Day for NYC’s city council race in November. Although we’re not asking you to vote in actuality here, this post is mostly to act as an Official Collection of Names for people who are running for city council in the fall! That way, we know who you are and who to build and develop election plot with over the coming months. So far, we know that there are at least two confirmed parties who are interested in ICly running for office, but if any of you might be on the fence about it – well, comment now or forever hold your peace! We’ll make a small post about the “winners” sometime this week (but we’re hoping tomorrow!), including a small write-up on some of the potential NPCs that will be appearing in the coming months.
