Entry tags:!event 10, hel, seth

Characters: Seth and Hel
Date/Time: May 1st.
Location: A room in L'Hotel de Jeu Ancien
Rating: TBD, but probably no worse than PG or PG-13
Warnings: Likely some choice language
Summary: Seth and Hel have to cooperate to get out.

Seth yawned as he could feel his mind starting to wake up, though his body protested that it wanted more sleep. Seth used to sleep in the nude all the time, particularly when Astarte started to share his bed. However that changed when Meri started to get the habit of going over to the room in the middle of the night in order to "discuss ideas". This almost always fell into the pattern of Meri and her mother talking about a couple concepts, Seth tiredly giving monosyllabic answers, and Meri "accidentally" falling asleep. So to prevent possible awkwardness, Seth made it a point to at least wear a pair of boxer shorts when going to bed, even if it annoyed him to do so. Hmm, the bed didn't feel quite right...

Hel tended to wear t-shirts to bed. Big ones, but still, just t-shirts. It was hot in New Orleans and getting hotter and muggier by the day. So it was actually the lack of sticky heat that was waking her up. It was far too comfortable. Was it raining? She'd need to close the windows.

She rolled over drowsily, and blinked. Twice.

"You are most certainly not my dog."

The unfamiliar voice instantly wakes him up.

"Who the hell are you!?" He instantly sits up..and recognizes the decor. "Oh fucking shit..this dump again! And what the shit is this!?" He yells in indignation when he realizes he's chained to the woman in the bed.

"Calm down, m'sieu. There is no sense in losing your head so early in the morning." She say up, running a hand through her hair. "My name is Wren, but I would also be known as Hel of the Norse."

Seth breathed through his nose and out his mouth to regain his composure. "Right..right. Seth of the Egyptians," he said, introducing himself off-handedly. "Well Hel, welcome to Hotel Purgatory. It's a pocket dimension run by an utter tool called Nigel who runs the place for Gaia and whats-his-face."

"Ah, I see. I wonder what this," she lifts her chained hand up to indicate what she was speaking of. "is all about?"

"Normally it'd be something I'd try with Tara, but it's far from kinky right now. I can tell you that whenever those a-holes bring us here, it's for some hidden reason. The chain likely has some significance aside from the obvious."

She didn't even blink at his candidness about his sex life. Who was she to judge? (Hear the rimshot quietly in the distance) "Likely so. Perhaps we should see if anyone has any clues?"

"Good idea. Sorry, but you'll have to get up with me so I can look outside."

"D'accord," she nodded, and situated herself to move across the bed when he rose.

However, when Seth went to open the door...

"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" He tried putting some of his strength into opening the door, but it stubbornly remained shut. "They locked us in, too."

She frowned slightly. "That seems somewhat over excessive. One or the other, perhaps I could understand."

He takes a few deep, settling breaths. "Okay..okay they clearly don't want us leaving until we accomplish..something."

"I would agree. But I have no idea what that something might be." She sounded apologetic, as if she was sorry she couldn't pull the answer out of thing air.

Seth looks awkwardly apologetic. "Don't worry..we'll figure something out."

She nodded. "I am not worried, m'sieu. I am just sorry that this is such an inconvenience." Of course, Hel had nothing to be sorry about. It was just her way to be empathetic. He was obviously displeased, and she sought to soothe as best she could.

Seth was not good at the whole "glass half-full" kind of thing, but...

"Yeah, well..it could be worse."
