metaquotes itself is a simple concept blatantly stolen from LiveJournal, and just a tad more recently, DeadJournal.

Here are some simple rules you should follow:

1.) The quote must come from an InsaneJournal user, and must be their original quote correctly noted by the poster.
2.) If the entry is particularly offensive or long, just put it under a cut.
3.) For all you lovely egotistical people out there, yes. You can quote yourselves.
4.) You cannot quote from locked entries without permission, and you cannot make a locked entry.

Also, it would be beneficial to link to the source of the quote, and not need an essay for the quote to be elucidated.
