Merry Smutmas, [info]geoviki!

To: [info]geoviki
From: [info]gold_loewin

Title: The Ecstasies of Flying, Floating and Falling
Rating: R
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Disclaimer: Sadly not mine.
Summary: Not everyone in the Wizarding World is elated by the publication of Rita Skeeter's unauthorized biography of Harry Potter.
Warnings: Not dial-up friendly. Image is NOT WORKSAFE.
Artist's notes: Merry Smutmas, Geoviki! You requested lots of plot, hurt/comfort and you wrote: "I really love emotional connection and don't mind if it's not so very porny getting there, within the R/NC17 smutmas requirements, of course. I like happy or hopeful endings, but I can cry on the way there." I managed to include almost everything and I hope you enjoy this. :)

Holy cripes. Mystery artist, I've always wondered if I write because I can't draw. I look at this and think your drawing IS the way you write. Son of a gun. I can hardly think where to begin--I think the most remarkable part for me is the shattering glass to indicate--what, the passage of time, things gone wrong, everything turning at right angles to what we think happened in canon...amazing. The anatomy is remarkable (the hands!) and that picture of the two of them entwined, feet dabbling in the water, is gonna stay with me for a long time. This is--wow. It's beyond description.

This is so beautiful. My favorite parts are the faint 'I must not tell lies' scaring on Harry's hand in the last panel, all of Draco's expressions and the shattering glass, just amazing!

Wow...this is incredible. I don't think any comment I could make would do it justice. The art is amazing. The mood is so poignant and melancholy. This is hurt/comfort at its very finest. It's a story in every sense except that it doesn't have any words, but it doesn't need them.

This is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt things I've seen in a long time. Truly, you're amazing, whoever you are. :)

Oh, oh, oh! I want to look at this again and again. I love the sheer beauty and ambiguity of it. I especially like Harry and Draco entwined at the edge of the lake, and their wet-headed embrace in the following panel. The shattered glass is a very effective device for transition, and looks incredible too. And a happy ending, too. *adoring sigh*

Wow, this is amazing. I love that it's in black and white ... and how the pictures progress ... and the skin! The hands! The details *_* The story! Wow! Personal favourites: The breaking mirror (so beautifully done) and the "I must not tell lies" on Harry's hands. This artwork is truly amazing! Great job!

Draco's fantasy is so heart-breaking. The bookstore/fantasy/story imagery was absolutely perfect. Just gorgeous! ♥

God, that's made me tear up. The images are so beautiful and there's so much interesting detail in each one. I am going to spend a lot of time looking at this. The whole thing just pulses with emotion. The shattering glass -- I had to catch my breath.
And "I must not tell lies," on Harry's hand -- so perfect.

This is really, really wonderful, thank you.

I have no words. This is so beautiful. I could stare at this for hours. Your work is so vivid, so evocative...

I wonder about the glass panel: does it really mean the passage of time, as some suggested? I thought at first that these images were some kind of daydreaming, with Draco imagining what could have been, instead of what really happened. Therefore the broken glass/bookshop window would be a reminder of his broken heart and shattered hope? Too much thinking here :) but at least there is a happy end.

Oh, wow. This is amazing -- both the story and the execution. The scene where they're all wrapped up naked together is tender and sexy at the same time, and I love their kiss in the next panel. Then you just shatter everything with the glass -- so effective! And the last panel is perfect.

Well worth the time it took with very slow dial up!

The last one, the hands, is breathtaking.

Oh my god, this is absolutely stunning!

There is so much said in this in such a brilliant, poignant, intelligent and sophisticated way, with absolutely no words - which makes it even more amazing. The way you weaved canon through fanon and back to canon again but with a twist, and through it all it stayed H/D all the way - really brilliant.

I love all the little details in the different panels (my god - their entwined bodies at the edge of the lake... *melts*), and the shattered glass is just so beautifully made - I actually gasped when I got to that panel.

Just absolutely amazing. *adores*

Oh wow, anon artist, it is so clear how much time and effort you spent on this piece. Amazing work. I love the panel of the two of them on the banks of the lake, but I especially love the last one, and the little detail of Harry's scar on his hand.

Beautiful job. This is phenomenal. :)

Wow, this is freaking gorgeous! Whoever you are, Mystery Artist, you have a talent with the pencil and detail. This could be Draco's fantasy or it could be the passage of time and he's just remembering. I think that's the beauty of this piece. The viewer can imagine what they want to imagine. I LOVE that. :D My favorite panels are: where they are entwined in the water, the shattering glass, the long view on the store with all the detail, like the books, etc, etc, and the last panel, which is their hands. What a wonderful story you have weaved here. :)

As for me, I rather not choose if it's a fantasy or recollection. It can be both, and I rather it stay that way. So I am undecided! ;)

Ah, so this is either a fantasy or alternate version of getting Hufflepuff's cup from Bellatrix's vault? Maybe Skeeter thought that a narrative replacing Draco with Hermione and Ron would sell more, but it certainly seems to devastate Draco.

Lovely images, and such a compelling narrative you've woven throughout them.

This is amazing! I have "read" it over and over, telling myself the story.

I love it all, but my favorite panel for sure is the one in the reeds and mud at the lake, with all of the hand prints telling their own story.

Wow.
