Fic: Look Out Below
FF7 AU. Basic plot idea: Cloud is an immortal who runs a mercenary group for fun, Sephiroth is the main mage adept in it, Zack isn't fully human, and Vincent Valentine and his brother, Chaos, are half-demon twins. Yep. Twins. If you want someone to blame, here is a collection of the pics that started the whole idea. Want to play in this universe? Feel free. Pretty much you just saw all the real canon for it. Free for all even moreso than HoS. Enjoy.

Look Out Below
“You didn’t?”
Cloud groaned and threw a balled up dishtowel at Chaos’s head when he realized that, yes, the man had. “Chaos, you -know- as long as you have long hair guys are going to continue hitting on you. Why do you think I got mine cut finally?”
Chaos blinked slowly at the blond, then simply threw the dishtowel back. “Zack claims anything you do is simply because you are older than dirt. I believe I will follow his line of answers.”
With a muttered curse, Cloud caught the cloth. “Zack is just jealous. Of what, I don’t know, but he is. And Vincent let you do this?”
“Vincent is my brother, -not- my keeper.”
“Well, maybe we should get you one. I’m pretty sure that pitching someone out a third story window is illegal.”
“He had wings.” Still in that same calm voice.
“Not the point. I come back to life after I die. Still illegal to throw me out of a third story window. Mostly for the safety of those below, I think.” Putting the last of the dishes away, he turned and looked at the half-blood. “Hell, you have wings half the time, and I think it’s illegal to throw you out the window. Not that I’m not tempted at times.”
“Vincent would be unhappy.”
“Of course Vincent would be unhappy. But he would just shoot me and get it over with. He wouldn’t throw me out the window.”
Chaos scowled slightly. “He’s firearms, I’m hand to hand. What did you expect?”
“Well, I think the only reason Vincent would shoot me is because he knows I can come back. Not the point. Him shooting me won’t get us sued.”
With a small grumble, Chaos settled back into his chair. “Then the man should learn to not hit on me.”
Now Cloud smiled. “I don’t think that will be a problem. Besides, you were the hottest thing at the club. Not many other winged beings there.”
“Well, you shouldn’t have sent me on that night. You know how I am when I am in that state.”
“You’re right. I am partially at fault. I should have sent Sephiroth or Zack with you as back up. Well, Sephiroth, anyway. Zack’s good, but if you had -lost it- lost it, Sephiroth could have bound you until you calmed.” Cloud paused a moment, then did a formal bow. “I do apologize.”
A small noise. “Don’t bow like that, Cloud. It’s disturbing to remember that you officially hold noble status.”
With a small sigh, Cloud straightened. “I know you guys hate Shinra with a passion, but their family is bloodtied to me. Anyway, my point was that I would like you to not throw any more people out the window unless they are trying to damage you, Vincent, Sephiroth, or Zack.”
“And what about yourself?”
A shrug. “I get better. I’d rather you concentrate on the others. You and Zack are the best at hand to hand, and I like having not dead partners.”
With a low rumble, Chaos slid to his feet and moved forward, pinning Cloud to the counter. “Looks like we need to have another lesson on why you should have a bit more care about your person,” he purred leaning in to kiss the man. A moment of pause, and his horns slid out of his skull. “And no jokes,” he murmured against Cloud’s lips.
“Is Zack you have to worry ‘bout, not me,” Cloud muttered back, hands lifting to trace the highly sensitive skin around there the horns protruded. “And you’re only doing this so I’ll stop lecturing you.”
“Is it working?” Another slow, long kiss. After a bit, Chaos pulled back and looked at Cloud.
“Sure, why the hell not? Just…don’t pitch anyone else out the window.”
“I wouldn’t have except he made a comment about you. So as long as they don’t do that, no more will get thrown out windows.”
“I don’t even want to know what the comment was. But, really, stop tossing people out the window. I can deal with them myself.”
Chaos didn’t answer, simply went back to kissing Cloud.
Vincent, who had been looking for his brother and wanting to make sure Cloud hadn’t killed him, stepped into the room, then sighed. “You two need to get a room. Seriously.”
He had no difficulty interpreting the gesture from Cloud. It clearly meant “I own the whole fucking building. All these rooms are mine.” Reason it was so easy to tell was Cloud said that. A lot.
Resisting the urge to roll his eyes, he was better trained than that, Vincent simply went to the fridge and pulled out some drinks. He paused before leaving, admiring the pretty picture the pair made. Just because he was related didn’t mean he couldn’t look. He -was- half-demon, after all. And demons did have notoriously loose morals.
Well, he might just have to visit Sephiroth or Zack in a bit, mightn’t he?
