McKinley High - Glee RPG

When: Friday night, May 18, 2012; both anti-prom and after-party are fair game in this thread -- the after-party runs all night, so even if your character attended prom, feel free to send them here afterwards!

Side Note: Kurt and Blaine will be staying at the anti-prom instead of attending prom, in game; however, with a little coaxing, Blaine can probably be coerced into washing out the hair gel, since it's a safer environment than in the McKinley gym and he's friends with everyone present, :)

( The hotel room wasn't huge, by any means, but then again, they were hardly expecting the entire McKinley student body to show up once prom ended... )

Burt had been trying to keep a lid on his nerves all day, waiting for the election results.  They were going to be announced, ironically, during the time that was usually reserved for  "Sue's Corner" on the local news. 

Thankfully, the press seemed to be convinced that Sue was the front-runner, and that he was the darkest of dark horses in this campaign.  There was one lone reporter hanging around outside the house waiting to interview him when the results came in. 

Since the campaign had been so small, and so brief, there wasn't really a campaign headquarters.  It was just him, and Carole, waiting for the results in the living room,  and the boys puttering around doing whatever they were doing, though he was pretty sure they were still up.

When the smarmy anchor announced that the results would be announced after the break, Burt, who'd been sitting in his recliner trying to stay calm, jumped to his feet, suddenly unable to sit still any longer, and began pacing the length of the room, half-listening to Patrick Warburton hawking Hondas.  This was it.

Burt settled into the comfortable recliner in the family room, a beer in one hand and the remote in the other.  A Sunday afternoon with a football game on, and the family around-- what could be better?

Genny stood at the edge of the group of musicians who were there to perform, playing through scales to warm up her trumpet. She paced around the cluster of performers as she played, trying to keep an eye out for anyone that she knew.

Taking her trumpet away from her mouth once she felt like she had warmed up enough, she sat on one of the chairs that was set up, grabbing her sheet music and starting to flip through it while she waited.

What: Quinn's Birthday Party

After promising his parents that he wouldn't destroy the house, they finally left to hang out with their friends (probably getting dim sum or something) and Mike finished setting up for the party. He set out bowls of chips and stuff, put a few cases of beer into a cooler, and put a sign on his parents room saying "OUT OF BOUNDS" before declaring the house ready. Now just for the people to arrive...

The grill was set up, the table was laid out with side dishes and condiments,and there was a large plastic tub full of ice and cans of soda (and bottles of water).  Burt surveyed the yard, nodding to himself: Bring on the guests.

Burt brought up the rear of the little McKinley High group getting onto the plane. He was counting noses, making sure everyone got settled. He flashed Carole a tired grin as he reached her and hefted their carry-on into the overhead rack.

 Kitchen is set up with coffee pot, Burt is making pancakes (wholegrain and heart-healthy) and there are all kinds of toppings available on the counter, along with plates and mugs ad silverware and anything else you could need.  Help yourself!

The good thing about not sleeping is that it allowed him a lot of time to plan something like this. Sure, Owen had been neglecting his studies for the last few days, but he was only studying to pass the time anyway. He liked doing this, expressing and showing his romantic side. It felt oddly more productive than reading and making maps.

So around three in the morning, Owen stepped out of his house with a bucket of chalk in his hands. He remembered reading a story a few years ago about a man (or a woman) in New York drawing a heart in chalk on every sidewalk step for three city blocks. The morning of Valentine's day the city woke up to love.

Owen planned to replicate that, albeit on a smaller scale. He found his way to the Payne household and began the long and tedious task of drawing little hearts on the sidewalk all the way to the entrance of Mckinley.

He was in for a long night. But it was worth it.

This one was tricky. It wasn't as elaborate as the scavenger hunt he had done the day before but it was much more difficult to hide. He had to bribe his brother not to tell anyone and hide it from Madison when he was working on it.

It was rather simple actually, but a little more public than the last few things he's done (except for the PA thing, that was pretty public)

It took him a while to get up on the roof. He hadn't quite thought it all through, and in fact, he had considered just putting it up somewhere on the hallway but one of the janitors took pity on him and let him through.

That was how Owen managed to hang a rather large banner down the front entrance of the school.

The banner contained a large painted black 6 and the lyrics to a song he had posted on his journal at midnight:

"So tell me, where did I go wrong before you? Before you came along, well it seems like I was lost. You showed me how to do things right, now I'm so glad that now you're mine. "

Owen managed to find his way into the PA system. Something he managed to do with the consent of the faculty. He struck a deal with his history teacher who got him into the office he needed to be at. It was only five minutes of use and it was during lunch so that it wouldn't disturb any classes.

Owen wasn't one to disturb learning after all, although it would have been amusing to see the student's reactions in the middle of class. Still, this was much better, and this way he got to make sure the job was done right.

The great thing about being in the AV club was that he had access to the school's audio equipment, which allowed him to hook up the PA system to a rather loud music player.

He had considered playing their song but he figured that would be too obvious. Instead, he played another song through the intercom by the same band and preluded it with a robotic recording that simply stated the number "4" so as to address it directly to Madison.

Subject: Super Bowl Shindig!

So, I'm using the same email list that Kurt used to invite you all to the wedding,since he printed it out for Carole at some point.  And adding some new folks in. 

I just wanted to let you all know that we're having a Super Bowl party at the Hummel house and you're all invited.  It's kinda an informal, open house sorta thing. Which is why everyone's getting an email invite rather than anything fancy.

We're gonna provide some food, but if anyone wants to bring their favorite party food, feel free, we'll make it a potluck.  We can set up for video games in the dining room for those of you who aren't football fans, so come hang out anyway.  And some sort of ladies spa thing upstairs, Carole tells me.

Oh, yeah.  Dry party, guys.  Sorry.  I'm hoping those of you who are friends with the boys will come over and we don't want to take the risk of under-age drinking.  Lame, I know, but that's life.  Come anyway, we'll still have a good time.

The calm before the storm.  Burt prowled through the house restlessly,  checking to make sure everything was in place. 
Big plastic tub full of ice and soft drinks in the garage: check.
 Video games set up in the dining room for  the kids: check.
 Kurt's room: locked and off limits: check
 Master bedroom set up as a retreat for the non-football fans (with Carole in charge): Check. 
Tons of food, ranging from healthy (veggie platter, whole wheat pita slices and hummus, etc) to chips and dip: check. 
And BBQ wings. 
And some of those little hot dogs in "blankets" -- he stole a couple of those when no one was looking, since they were a favorite. 
TV warmed up and pregame playing:check. 

Seemed like they were ready. He ran into Carole coming downstairs from the second floor, caught her around the waist, and spun her into an embrace that might have put the teenagers to shame, if any of them had been watching.  He kissed her until they were both breathless,and she pushed him away, laughing and reaching up to fix her hair, as the doorbell rang.  Their first guest!  "Game time," he said with a grin for her as he went to answer the door.

So, here it was. The first party Madison´s house had ever seen, as far as Madison knew.

Everything was prepared, Santana had send out the emails to everyone earlier, Madison´s watch informed her it was 6pm and she was waiting for the first guests to arrive.

She was wondering who would actually come, with how many people seemed uncomfortable when it came to the theme of the party. Madison couldn´t really understand what the problem was, though. It was fun and where was the embarrassement when everyone present would be crossdressed, too?
