It was odd, going over to Quinn's house. He had never actually been to her house before, always meeting up with her at Mercedes' or at the mall or something, and he had taken special care in his outfit for this monumental occasion.

Somehow, he didn't think the WASP parents who would throw their own daughter out of her house for getting pregnant would be very welcoming of a flamboyantly gay kid, even if he was on their daughter's cheerleading team.

So when Kurt rang the Fabray's doorbell, his Navigator neatly parked in the driveway, to the side, so as not to block the Fabray's too badly, he was dressed in the closest approximation to 'straight chic' he could manage without going all the way into truckerville. Loose-fitting jeans, black Doc Martins (under the pants), and a sky-blue polo that made his eyes look fabulous.. But it was a plain polo, not even with a pinstripe or second color for the collar or anything like that. He had a black peacoat over his outfit and a pageboy hat on his head, the tamest concessions to the weather he could manage. He just hoped it was calm enough for the Fabrays.

Quinn had had a pretty busy day with school, Cheerios, meeting up with Mercedes, coming home and spending some time with her mom, and now having Kurt over. She was glad to be back in the swing of things though. When she had been in social Siberia last year and pregnant she was sometimes so bored she thought she would go insane. Flitting to the door, she pulled it open and gave him a cheerful smile.

"Oh, well I feel under dressed," she said, looking down at her jeans and tshirt. "This is better than my babydoll dresses though I think," she said before leading him inside and towards the kitchen to say hi to her mother.

"Mom, you remember Kurt, right? Kurt this is my mom, Judy," Quinn said, figuring a proper introduction would be best right now. Even though she had told her mom about Kurt coming over and that he was gay (which she took surprisingly well, but then again it was just one less male to impregnate her little honey bee).

"Oh, Kurt, hello there. That's a lovely shirt you're wearing," Judy said while Quinn tried not to laugh. Leave it up to her mom to compliment clothes, thinking it was a way to instantly connect with someone who was gay. Although she wasn't too wrong there.

"And I tried to dress down," Kurt said, distressed, as he stepped into the house. "I wasn't sure what your mom would think of my usual clothes..."

But when Kurt was introduced to Mrs. Fabray officially, he was all polite smile and an offered hand, every inch the gentleman. "It's nice to meet you properly, Mrs. Fabray. Thank you. I like your..." His eyes skimmed briefly over the older woman's outfit before he smiled again, "skirt. It's... very fitting."

Judy Fabray's style made her look prim and uptight, but Kurt would never say that to his hostess.

Quinn bit her lip as her mom looked down at her skirt and back up, looking sort of proud before saying, "Why thank you, dear!" Because when someone fashion savvy like Kurt gives you a compliment, you've really made it.

"Well I'm glad you two have finally met. We're going to go to my room. We'll probably be out for something to eat later. Bye, mom," Quinn said, giving her a quick hug.

"Okay, you kids have fun," Judy replied then went back to her cooking for the Church's latest bake sale.

Leading Kurt back to her room, she spotted Charlie sitting on the couch in the living room and scooped him up to bring him as well. "This is Charlie, the incredible cuddling cat," she said with a smirk then set him down at the foot of her bed. "He's really nice."

When Kurt's back was to Judy, he made a little face betraying his true feelings about her outfit. But no, he wouldn't say anything...

He said nothing more, though, until he was in Quinn's room, when he immediately sat down on her bed and offered Charlie his hand to sniff. "Hello, Charlie," he said, his smile this time actually warm and genuine, a rare expression on his face. "Quinn's sung your praises quite a bit."

	Quinn scratched at Charlie's back and smiled when he cautiously approached Kurt and sniffed his hand before starting to rub against him. "I think that's the seal of approval," she said, giggling slightly. "So, how are you?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Nice kitty..." Kurt smiled, rubbing Charlie's ears and stroking down his back. A benefit to dressing down meant he wasn't quite so OCD about cat fur on his clothes.

"I'm..." Kurt sighed, closing his eyes and shaking his head a little as he continued to smooth his fingers over Charlie's fur. "I'm an idiot, really. How are you? I heard your night wasn't that great either..."

"I'm an idiot as well," Quinn said, nodding gravely. "But I stopped myself before I did anything really stupid, thank God. Want to talk about your stupidity first and then I'll share my horror stories?" She asked, settling back against her headboard and grabbing a stuffed animal to hug. It was pretty childish and pathetic, but oh well. Kurt was cuddling with her cat. It was desperate times.

"When you were pregnant, Quinn... did you ever feel like you wanted to talk to another pregnant woman? "Well I tried that with Mrs. Schuester... or whatever she's called now. But then it turned out she wasn't even pregnant so that didn't work. I know what you mean though. And I wished I had my mom to talk to, because she went through pregnancy. But I couldn't do that either. Wow, I'm not being very encouraging. Um, I understand what you're trying to get at though. That I'm not the most empathetic person right now. But at least you have my cat to cuddle," she finished lamely and shrugged.

Kurt sighed, but he had to smile at the cat nestled in the curve of his legs. He liked cats. They didn't judge. "I... there's another gay boy at McKinley. He's not out yet, so I'm not going to tell you who, but... he did come out to me. He got my email and wanted to talk and... I've known for over a week now. And we met up, and we just... we just talked, Quinn, and it was amazingly cathartic. I didn't even... I mean, I thought I had a good handle on things on my own, but I never realized how much I just really wanted someone else who understood, you know?"

Quinn nodded along as he talked, getting completely where he was coming from. She had wanted someone who understood what she was going through, which is why she had joined the Unwed Mothership Connection. That had sort of helped. "Is there like a LGBT group at McKinley? No, wait, that's a dumb question. Well even if this guy isn't out yet, it helps just to know that you can talk to him, right? That's a start. Maybe the more you talk, the more he'll be ready to come out." She really didn't know how all that worked, but hopefully this mystery guy didn't yank Kurt's chains around.

"Honestly?" Kurt asked. "I don't remember much. We did make out. And. Um. A bit more than that. But beyond that..." He shrugged, keeping his eyes on Charlie as he waved his hand to illustrate the fuzziness of that night. "I woke up in his arms and I... I ran. I just... I don't know. I don't know. I didn't want to do anything with him, though, Quinn! I didn't want to... make things awkward. But I did, and now I can't even look at him, and I just wanted..." A friend. I just wanted a friend who understood.

"I kissed Artie," Quinn suddenly blurted out. "Well technically he kissed me first. But I know that you just thought 'oh look, here is this person in the same situation as me, we can talk and be friends and get through this together' and then the next thing you know you're kind of just laying there looking at each other and kissing. But Artie and I both agreed that we were just doing it because we felt sad. maybe if you talk to this guy you can explain to him what was going on and that you would like to be his friend, no matter what happened. I mean, it's worth a shot. The worst that can happen is him saying no, but you'll find out if you keep ignoring him."

"It was definitely after he and Tina broke up. I mean, it was the next morning. We weren't even drunk anymore, so I don't know why he did it. Or why I did it. Besides us both being depressed? Oh, God. Don't tell anyone though. We're trying to move past the awkwardness and I think Tina would literally kill me if she ever found that out," Quinn said with a groan. Her life was such a mess right now.

Quinn vaguely remembered Mercedes saying something about Mike wanting to set Kurt up with Sam and with the 'closeted jock' clue, it was sort of clicking in place. She decided not to say anything just yet though, because she didn't want to put Kurt in the position where he was telling other people's secrets.

She sighed before shrugging. "I don't know. He thinks I am some heartless, fake person who doesn't care about him. But I do. I just can't be the sex obsessed girlfriend he wants. I felt bad about myself and did it with him and that's why I even got caught up in that whole mess in the first place. Like, I like him, but not the way he makes me feel? Does that even make sense?"

"You want to be his friend," Kurt summarized, "but not his girlfriend--and Puck's not known for having girls as friends. That is a conundrum..." The more he talked about things that weren't Sam, the better. "And then you kissed Artie the next day... have you thought about not dating anyone? At least until Coach Sylvester insists on it? I mean, you went from Finn to Puck to Finn to Puck to Artie... there's no time for Quinn in there."

"I never said I was going to date Artie. I never even thought of him as anything more than a friend until he kissed me, but then we both quickly realized we were just being irrational. I'm not planning on dating anyone for a while. Honestly, boys in high school are way too much trouble," Quinn said with a sigh.

"And with Puck, things were okay actually. We talked about contacting Ms. Corcoran but now that probably isn't going to happen. Things are just messed up."

"It must be so difficult, being the head cheerleader," Kurt said dryly before giving a shake of his head. "No, sorry, that was uncalled for, and untrue, anyway. All right. You want to fly solo for a while. That's good. It'll give you a chance to settle down. Really come to terms with, with everything. So that solves--well, it doesn't solve, but it makes Puck not a problem. Time will heal that hurt. And same with Artie, not that you did much, but still. No dating, no Artie-drama. That leaves... Beth?"

Quinn frowned at Kurt's remark though was glad to see he quickly took it back. "Right, no boys for a while. You know, Mercedes gave the same advice when we were out earlier. You two are so alike sometimes it freaks me out," she said, smirking slightly to ease the tension.

"I think once Puck and I settle down some then maybe we can revisit the situation? I'm not really worried about it. I do know that I wouldn't want to see Beth without Puck. Even though we didn't work out like that, I don't want to go behind his back like that. So looks like I'm all sorted. Do you want to talk any more? Or maybe we could just go gorge ourselves on low fat popcorn and watch a chick flick. Your call."

It wasn't like she was going to spread it around. Like when Sunshine had asked her about Kurt's love life, she hadn't seen it as her place to tell that he was gay. Same deal with Sam.
