RP Thread: Kurt & Blaine
Who: Kurt, Blaine
What: Kurt brings by brunch to the Anderson house the day after Blaine's surgery. He's on some pretty heavy painkillers.
When: Saturday morning.
Rating: PG

Kurt wasn't sure what he was expecting to see when he got to the Andersons' on Saturday morning, ringing the doorbell and waiting to see who would show up. He'd asked Blaine if he wanted him to come by once Blaine got home from his eye surgery, but Blaine had shot him down. The surgery took most of the afternoon, and the text Kurt recieved later that night was either the result of painkillers or his spellcheck decided to revolt.

So he figured that Blaine either was feeling bad and needed some caring, or was completely high and he wanted to make sure that he saw what was going on. He had an insulted cooler with some fruit, and cinnamon rolls, and eggs and bacon, to bring the joy of brunch to Blaine, as well as some other bits and pieces to help him relax.

Blaine's eye hurt. Well, it probably hurt, but at the moment, he was kind of heavily medicated, and couldn't seem to muster the will to care that his eye hurt. Whatever meds the doctor had prescribed were the really fun kind, that left his head feeling like he'd been sucking on too much helium, and that it might just decide to detach itself from his shoulders and... float away.

The mental image made him snort, and he hunched his shoulders under the throw blanket, still humming softly along with his iPod in its dock. Reading made his head hurt, he couldn't focus long enough to pay attention to anything on television, and his balance was all thrown off, so leaving his room wasn't really a viable option if he wanted to avoid running into something and taking a tumble down the stairs.

That would suck.

He wasn't exactly bored, though -- he had his music, at least, and his thoughts couldn't seem to stay still long enough to be bored. He'd have the eye patch off early next week, and the heavy meds were only for the first day or so after the surgery -- he just had to get through the weekend first.

A noise from outside his door drew his attention, and Blaine lit up at the sight of his boyfriend. "Kurt!" he beamed, and straightened reflexively. "You're here! Wait, why are you here?" he asked, his brow furrowing. He hadn't especially wanted Kurt to see him like this after the surgery, but he wasn't entirely sure why anymore.

"Because you had surgery yesterday and I wanted to make sure that you were okay," Kurt said, pushing Blaine's door all the way open and making his way in. "And I brought brunch," he added, motioning to the cooler he was carrying. "You look good -- how are you feeling?"

Blaine held up one hand and waggled his fingers vaguely, and then momentarily got distracted watching his fingers.

"...Floaty," he answered. He dropped his hand and tilted his head toward Kurt with a hopeful look. "You brought me food?"

Kurt sat down on the side of Blaine's bed and nodded. "I brought us brunch," he clarified, curious as to how 'floaty' was going to make the meal. "I have some eggs and bacon that I can whip up, in addition to fresh fruit and already baked and iced cinnamon rolls," he said. "Weekends are for brunch, and since you can't leave the house, I wanted to bring brunch to you."

"Awww," Blaine's expression softened at that. "That's sweet. You brought me brunch." He shifted over to sit as close to Kurt as he could, and peered over his shoulder. "You brought me cinnamon rolls. God, I love you."

"I love you too," Kurt chuckled. "And if I'd known that cinnamon rolls were all it took, I would've brought cinnamon rolls to spy on the Warblers the first time."

"I would've handed you our set list. Possibly on engraved stationary," Blaine said solemnly. He settled his chin on Kurt's shoulder and looped one arm around his waist. "The Warblers would've kicked me out, but screw 'em, I'd've had cinnamon rolls."

Kurt's eyes went wide as he leaned his head against Blaine's. Apparently drugs make him cuddly. Which was fine and darling, just unexpected. "Well, I wouldn't have wanted to kick them out. That would've deprived me from getting to see you sing. You know, in my wildest little fantasies, I imagined that you were singing Teenage Dream directly to me that day."

"Was," Blaine muttered, closing his good eye as he slumped against Kurt. "Not my fault you guys sent a really cute, really ineffective spy. Man, that performance was a lot of fun, too," he laughed, and hid a grin against Kurt's shoulder. "The look on your face was fantastic."

"The look on my face was saying 'Oh, please, please anything that is just and fair in this universe, make this boy gay as a rainbow'," Kurt quipped.

"Gay as two rainbows," Blaine confirmed sagely. "Maybe even three. I was never that good in practice, you must've inspired me." He dropped a loud, smacking kiss on the side of Kurt's neck, and hooked his chin over his shoulder once more, his fingers tightening in the material of Kurt's shirt over his stomach. "I should let you go, shouldn't I?" he asked reluctantly. "Because of food?"

"Oh, food can wait," Kurt said quickly. "I came prepared, cooler and all. So we've still got a few minutes before I have to move your hilariously high butt to the bed or the kitchen to make you brunch. "I want to go back to this gay as three rainbows thing. I want to know what you thought my expression was saying while you were auditorially seducing me via Teenage Dream?"

Blaine took that as all the permission he needed, and settled himself bonelessly against Kurt. "I can totally be gay as three rainbows. Rainbows are colorful and bright and everything good in life." He hesitated for a moment. "I'm pretty sure that makes you double rainbows instead of me, though. Wait, what was the question again?"

Blaine on painkillers was fun, Kurt thought happily as he tilted his head to rest on Blaine's. "And you were just about to tell me what your favorite thing about me is," Kurt said.

Blaine scrunched up his nose thoughtfully. "Your eyes," he supplied after a long moment. "Your voice. And that really judge-y look you get when I do something exceptionally silly, the one that kind of makes me want to kiss you, even if we're in the middle of the hallway at school and it might get the crap beat out of us." He frowned slightly. "Wait, is that the same thing as your eyes? Can't I just say all of you and leave it at that?"

"Yes, you can," Kurt beamed. "And just so you know... it would almost be worth kissing you in the hallway. Besides, I know that you can defend me. Throw yourself in front of me. Or punch them in the face since you're a boxer."

"Punching bags don't hit back, though, or kick you in the stomach until you've got two cracked ribs," Blaine pointed out idly. "I'd punch them in the face if I had to, even if I've never actually punched anyone before -- but I'm only one me, and there's only one you. I don't ever want anyone to hurt you, not even a little bit, not because of me."

"Well, I was thinking, and I'm totally aware I'm going to have to ask you this when you're not on painkillers," Kurt added with a chuckle. "But I was thinking, maybe you could show me a few moves. Teach me how to throw a punch, because then there would be two of us."

"You want me to teach you to box?" Blaine asked with a startled little laugh. "Okay. I get to correct your form and everything, right? And you won't miss the bag and punch me instead?"

"Yes, and no," Kurt replied. "I promise I won't hit you. I just think it would be useful to know a few moves just in case at some point you need your honor defended. Besides, I've seen what your eyes do when there are athletic, half naked men on the tv when we flip through."

"Yes, I would have to wear work out clothes," Kurt agreed. "I might even let you have some input in to which work out clothes I wear since my football attempt leaned more towards Flashdance than Ali."

"I like your clothes," Blaine protested, snuggling closer. "I bet you rocked the ripped-neck sweatshirt look," he added, and pressed a kiss to Kurt's neck in the general vicinity of his collarbone.

"As usual, I looked good," Kurt replied. He reached into the cooler and brought out the container of cinnamon buns. "Are you hungry?" he murmured, pulling out one of the cinnamon buns and taking a bite out of it. "Icing heals all wounds. And then I have another surprise after brunch."

Blaine shifted his head to track the cinnamon roll in Kurt's hand with his good eye, essentially nuzzling at his neck in the process. "I'm pretty sure cinnamon rolls are magic," he murmured. "Especially if you made them." He brightened visibly, letting go of Kurt's shirt, although he didn't pull away quite yet. "I get more surprises?"

"You do," Kurt said. "I know you probably feel very... ugh... what with the eye patch and probably not taking care of yourself since getting in and out of the shower with a limited depth field, and... well, I don't even know if you can with the eye patch," he rambled on. "Anyway, I brought a few things over. If you lean over a sink, I can wash your hair, and I brought my moisturizer because skin care should never take a holiday."

Blaine blinked owlishly, the effect somewhat ruined by the fact that only one eye was visible. "You'll wash my hair?" he echoed, surprised and a little bit hopeful. "I'm not completely gross, I can shower and all -- I just can't get the patch wet, so washing my hair's been really awkward, and skin care routines are pretty much a wash. So... really?"

Kurt swiveled just enough to kiss Blaine without jostling him from his perch atop Kurt's shoulder. "It's all in the second bag," he said, referring to the messenger bag that was dropped in the same place as the cooler. "Shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, a seperate hand moisturizer..."

"It does make it easier to run my fingers through your hair when it isn't gelled as much as you usually do it," Kurt replied. "So yes, any excuse to play with your hair is a good one. I just think you deserve to be pampered. Especially since you're my hero in this."
