He really couldn't believe this was happening, he, Jacob Ben Israel, had a date. With a girl. That he wasn't paying. In fact, he had just been doing some research about Brittany's new found sexuality, inquiring about the fact that she was now into guys, when Brittany had told him to pick her up at 8. Well naturally he couldn't do that on Saturday because he had to go to temple and then have Shabbat dinner with his family. Somehow after that they had come to the conclusion he would be bringing her to the aquarium (something about a lungfish?) the next day instead.

After getting the keys to his mom's station wagon (she had made such a fuss, and even ironed out his best shirt to wear), he made his way to Brittany's house and after parking, approached the front door. Taking a moment to check his breath, he deemed it suitable and rang the door bell.
