Who: Genny, Mercedes
What: Talking about Kurt and Blaine.
When: After Regionals, but before ND catches the bus home.

Genny was sitting on the edge of the stage after the competition was over, whistling to herself softly. She had finished talking to Blaine a few minutes ago, and was now waiting for Mr. and Mrs. Hummel to finish talking to Kurt and before catching a ride back to Lima with them. Swinging her feet slightly, she looked around for something to do to keep herself occupied.

Mercedes was on a high. A year ago they came in dead last, and now they were first. First fucking place, and a damn well deserved first place. She was ecstatic. Sure she was a bit sad that her boy couldn't celebrate with her, he was on the other team after all, but he was pretty psyched about her win.

"WE WON!" She shouted to the world, doing a little dance. Damn what everyone would think, they won!

Genny looked up, smiling widely as she saw one of the New Directions girls celebrating their win. Looking closer, Genny realized that she recognized the girl as having commented on her journal once or twice. Feeling like there was some other reason she should know her, Genny got up and walked over, tapping her on the shoulder lightly.

"Hey, congratulations!" She said, smiling widely. "You guys were awesome. I really liked that song with the cups of glitter at the end. Way better than actually getting slushied."

	"Hah, I know right?" She grinned, referring to the slushies. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Genny right?" Mercedes knew the girl, well kind of, but it was a good start. "Sooo, what'dyou think? "Yeah, that's me. Mercedes, right?" Genny asked, wanting to make sure she had the girl's name right in her head.

"I like watching it, but I'm pretty sure if I joined, I'd stop your winning streak. I've never sang or anything. I play the trumpet, though, so I know a little bit about music, but that's not really the same as all of this." She said, gesturing to Mercedes' outfit. "There's not really a lot of glitz in band, to be honest. Well, Marching Band has some, but even that's not as intense as this..."

Mercedes nodded, "The one and only."

Glee club was really glamorous in a weird way. Sure it was at the bottom of the social ladder but it was a lot of hard work, not too unlike the cheerios (well except that their coach wasn't a complete nutjob), "We are a show choir, I guess part of the show is to make it as entertaining as possible. It ain't easy, I'll tell you that." Especially since they never seem to end up using the songs they practiced all year for the competition instead of a quick one they bang out, but whatever they still won. "If you want it to be showy and fabulous, all you have to do is make it so."

She was talking too much, she could tell. "Anyway, how'd you hear about Regionals? No one at school comes down here."

"Dude, it doesn't look easy at all. I'm pretty sure if I tried some of the dancing you guys did, I'd sprain something." Genny said, laughing slightly. She smiled and shrugged. "Who knows? If I ever decide that I'm not terrified of singing outside of my shower, I may come audition. It really does look like fun."

She smiled, tugging at her shirt. It was covered in rhinestones and had "Team Warblers" across the middle of it in red glitter. "Oh, my best friend is one of the Warblers. I feel bad for not supporting my school and all, but I don't really know anyone from New Directions, sorry." She added, blushing slightly.

"Oh please, aren't you on the volleyball team?" Mercedes asked, "You'd be fine dancing around"

Mercedes did hope that she'd join. A new member was always welcomed, so long as they weren't spies of course, or homophobic assholes, and judging by Genny's journal posts, there was no way she was one of them.

"Ah!" Mercedes said, she felt silly for not noticing the shirt, "Don't worry about it, my best friend is a Warbler too. You know Kurt? The pale white boy singing the duet with Blaine? He's my boy."

"I'm pretty sure that Coach only put me on the team because she needed people. I'm kind of a klutz, to be honest." She said, laughing softly. "Who knows? Maybe I'd be better at dancing than I am sports. I mean, they're both really physical, but in different ways. Plus, you can always practice a dance. With sports, you can practice, but you never know what you're actually going to have to do..."

"No way! I know, Kurt, too! Blaine's the best friend I was talking about!" She said, smiling widely. "I actually knew Kurt first, he's the reason Blaine's stuck with me constantly bugging him now. He introduced us, and I kind of decided that Blaine was going to be my friend. He didn't get a choice in the matter."

"Unless you improvise!" Mercedes exclaimed. "We freestyle it a lot at practice. If you don't want to join, you can always just stop in and chill with us." She could join the glee band with her trumpet, they were occasions when they needed a few horns after all.

"Seriously?" Mercedes asked, "I can't believe he hasn't mentioned you!" Kurt was still her best friend but it was getting harder and harder to communicate like they used to. "Blaine's a hella chill guy" Mercedes said smiling, "I'm so glad somethin's finally goin' on with those two."

"I'll come by and check it out sometime. That way I know what I'd be getting in to!" Genny said, smiling widely. She wouldn't mind getting to know some of the New Directions members. They all seemed like pretty nice people, and she did like music...It was worth going to check out, at least.

"To be honest, Kurt and I don't talk as much, just because I usually only catch him online. Blaine and I pretty much text constantly. He's like my big brother."

She laughed at Mercedes' comment about the boys finally getting together, shaking her head excitedly. "You don't even know the half of it! He told me that he likes Kurt when we went shopping on Tuesday, and I was just like '...Okay...That's not news'." She giggled, shaking her head. "I love the boy, but he's really good at being clueless."

It was good to know about Blaine from someone else's head. Kurt knew Blaine, but Kurt was hopelessly infatuated with him and Rachel wasn't extremely close with the boy. "You gotta tell me everything about him, seriously. And thank god the two of them have us or they'd still be skirtin' around each other. Hopeless, both of them. So hopeless."

Genny laughed and nodded. "They really are hopeless. I mean, anyone with eyes could tell they were in to each other!" She smiled, rolling her eyes fondly, remembering telling Blaine the same thing almost word for word.

"And Blaine is...He wants to do right by everybody all the time, you know? I think that's part of what kind of put the brakes on him getting with Kurt for so long, he didn't think Kurt needed him as a boyfriend, he thought he needed a buddy or something."

She shrugged, smiling slightly. "He's ridiculously in to Kurt, though. He blushes when he talks about him, he keeps freaking out that he's going to mess things up...He basically wants to be the best boyfriend ever."
