Entry tags:marianne o'connell, parker aaronson

Who: Parker and Marianne
When: Friday, early evening
Where: O’Connell’s
What: Meeting
Rating: TBA
Status: Incomplete

Since he was fully intending to take Kristine out, at least once, Parker knew that he’d have to go ask permission from her boss, as much as he hated it. The last thing he wanted was a fight with a werewolf, hell, even an argument wouldn’t have been the funnest thing, so niceties must be observed.

After leaving Arianna at Jamie’s for a bit, he made his way down to the pub and walked in, his hands clasped behind his back, giving off an easy and non-threatening air. After looking around for a second, Parker spotted the werewolf and grinned. Much prettier than he’d imagined, that was for bloody well sure. Walking up to her, he bowed his head just a bit in greeting. “Excuse me, luv. Are you the owner?”

A box was currently braced on her hip and with one arm as she put the bottles up, she remembered the last time she had been carting boxes up from downstairs. Ailsa had texted her to tell her that she needed help. A slight shudder ran through her and she sat the box down after a moment to pay attention to the male who had just approached her. "Aye, that'd be me." She replied lightly, easily. She leaned back against the other bartop, the one behind her where she usually mixed the drinks and the like. Her arms crossed beneath her chest calmly. "And ye'd be?"

She checked her watch after a moment or two, they were now serving liqour. "Anything I can get for you while I'm standin' here?" She paused for a moment and reached under the bar to grab a beer and pass it down to one of the regulars before leaning back against the counter again.

Waiting until she was comfortable, Parker stuck out his hand. "Parker Aaronson," he offered along with a smile. "I'm an old friend of Jamie's," he said, figuring the name-drop would ease the meeting a bit. "Just in town the other night, and thought I'd introduce myself," he said, not exactly a lie, but coming out and saying why he was there right from the off could prove awkward.

"No thanks, luv," the Fae said with a smile, waving off the offer politely. "I've got to get back shortly, and if I have one, it'll be five," he joked.

She took his hand and gave a light smile. "Marianne O'Connell." The name-drop did ease the lsight tension in her shoulders and made her relax ever so slightly. A light nod came a moment later. "Nice to meet you then, Mr. Aaronson. Welcome to Mayham...ignore the loons and you'll do fine." She quirked a smile at that and then shook her head. "Teasing, you'll be fine no matter what I wager."

Snorting in mild amusement, her hands settled down on either elbow lightly. "That makes sense, I suppose. How bout some water then?"

Once her hand was in his, Parker bent a bit and brushed his lips across her knuckles before straightening and giving her a smile. "Please...Parker," he corrected, nodding a bit at the welcome.

"Water would be lovely," he said with a smile, taking a seat. Once he had it, he took a sip and then leaned forward a bit. "Okay, the truth, luv, is that I'm interested in one of your employees," he admitted. "And I know how you lot can be with your pack, so I reckon the gentlemanly thing to do would be to ask your permission to see her."

A faint smile quirked her lips and then she nodded after he had told her to call him by his first name. "Mari, then." She replied lightly. Mostly to let him know that he had permission to call her it. A name for a name, and all of that jazz.

Looking at him after a moment or two, simply scanning his eyes. "Mmm..I imagine Kristine would be the employee, yes? Aye, you did right by coming by to ask me..but I don't think she'd much like it. Since I have every intention of giving you the third degree." She leaned forward and placed her arms on top of the bar, her eyes meeting his easily. "If you hurt her, there will be nothing and no one that will stop the wrath I bring down on you. While Jamie is someone I would consider a friend and a business associate, and I might end up her enemy if I harm you, but pack comes first in all things." She drew back after a moment or two and then nodded. "Go for it, date her, see her. Whichever it is you're talking about doing, she's a nice girl and deserves happiness."

"Brilliant," he grinned, committing the nickname to memory.

He nodded at the question and let her have her out, a little smile playing over his lips at both the promise and the permission. "I expected nothing less, luv," he said with a nod. "She's a lovely girl, yes. Had a wonderful conversation with her the other night, and all."

Taking another sip of his water, Parker set it down and placed his palms on the bartop, leaning back in a little stretch. "Alright, I'll not tell her about this unless directly asked," he promised. "So have at it, Ma'am Interrogator," he teased, winking at her. "Do your worst."

"Excitable much?" She muttered, he was definitely different than Jamie.

A slight grin crossed her lips after a moment or two, slightly twisted in its nature. At least he understood her very clearly that she would make his life a living hell. "Good. But I suppose you already expected a threat if nothing else."

Her eyes narrowed slightly and then nodded. "Unless directly asked." She just watched him for a moment or two, her fingers tapped off of her thigh thoughtfully. "What brings you to Mayham? Are you like Jamie? And exactly what are your intentions towards Kristine?" Those three would do for now.

Parker was certainly the goofball, if nothing else. In fact, people had a hard time believing that he was almost three hundred years older than Jamie, as he acted much younger than she did. "Of course I did," he smiled. "And I reckoned it'd be yards worse if I didn't ask, so I figured I'd risk it."

"Yes," he said with a nod. "Faes - what Jamie and I are - we cannot lie. I can twist the truth, dance around things, but an outright lie..." he shrugged. "No one knows why, we just can't do it."

Thinking for a moment, Parker nodded. "I'm here working, and trying to make Jamie and I's life a bit easier. We're friends from way back and we've a child together," he admitted. Holding up a finger, he stopped whatever Mari might want to say. "Jamie and I are not together, and I've not told Kristine about Arianna yet. If you'll allow me that, I'd appreciate it. My daughter gets attached quickly, and I'd not want things to not work out between Kristine and I, and have Ari suffer for it," he explained.

"As for my intentions, I'd like to know her better," he shrugged. "Things rarely progress with me much further than that," Parker explained. "But when it does end, no one is heartbroken about it. I cannot make any promises as to the future, but for now, I'd fancy knowing her better."

She snorted in mild amusement. He had the right of it with werewolves, surprisingly enough. Not many people bothered to study the origins and understand that initially, werewolves were wolves...only bigger, stronger, faster. "You're right about that. I'm glad you did."

"It might have something to do with the gods and the goddesses." She shrugged lightly, her eyebrow rising. "You never know really what stipulations they put on things unless they outright tell you. And apart from the ban on human flesh to werewolves, they haven't told us much."

At the mention of the child, she stiffened if only slightly. Child. Allaister. She shook her head and smiled at him after a moment or two. "That makes sense, and you go ahead and tell her. I'll not mention anything about it, as it isn't my place." after a moment or two, she smiled at him. "A child should never suffer no matter the choices that the parents make. So if nothing else, you protect your child and that gives you an up and up in my books."

She quirked a faint smile and then nodded. "All right, just don't get her addicted to you. Dealing with upset employees is not in my job description. Much as I might love them, emotions are not my strong suit. Namely crying females." She shuddered at the thought and shrugged it off after a moment. "Well, go for it. Get to know her. For now, those are the only questions I can come up with."

Parker shrugged. Who knew really? And, odds were, they weren't going to find out any time soon.

"Thanks," he grinned, nodding a bit, feeling relieved. The last thing he wanted was to have Kristine surprised by that, though, with his luck, it would happen anyway.

Parker laughed a bit. "I don't reckon it'll go that foul," he assured her. "It's been a good...eh...three hundred years since I've had a bird crying over me?" he mused, tilting his head to the side.

"You're welcome. Me telling her wouldn't be fair to you, or to your daughter." if there was one thing she understood, it was that at the very least.

A grin crossed her lips and she nodded. "All right, that's probably a good thing. I don't do well with crying females. I never have." She shrugged and then smiled at him after a moment or two. "Well, have fun."

Nodding a bit, Parker laughed. "Yeah, neither do I," he admitted with a wince. "Nothing scares me more than some bird leaking over something I did. You lot are unpredictable when you're emotional," he teased. "I'm just as likely to get kissed or hit in that situation."

There was a vibrating in his pocket and Parker jumped about three feet off his stool. "Bloody thing," he groused, pulling his cell from his pocket and looking at the id. "I'm sorry, luv. I have to take this," he winced, standing up and moving away a bit. "Hello, princess," he said, laughing at his daughter.

She grinned a little bit and then shook her head. "Men never do do well with women crying. And hey, leave me alone with the unpredictability. Only my mate.." She froze there and just looked at the nearest object. "..can call me unpredictable and emotional.." And then she looked back to him with a faint smile.

A moment later, she shrugged again and smiled at him as he answered the phone. She caught the princess bit and then busied herself with something else so she wasn't intruding or appearing to listen to the conversation at all.
