Jamie gave one last glance at Ailsa before turning to get to work on cleaning up the mess that was left. She stood a moment surveying the land, working out just what she'd do to clean it all up.
The moment was long enough for Julian to not only pocket the keys that had been tossed to him but to also wrap an arm around Jamie's waist, pulling her into his side. "She'll be alright," he murmured into a kiss to the Fae's temple.
Jamie gave a small nod, leaning into him for the briefest moment. "I hope so." Taking a deep breath, she pulled away from Julian gently and moved to squat down about where the priest had been. She looked over her shoulder at Julian. "You might want to turn around. This is going to be painful for you to watch."
Julian turned to watch the street and surrounding area, not worried about anyone actually seeing what Jamie was about to do. The ground still held the glittered effect, which meant the glamour still held. His back warmed, letting him know that Jamie was using Fae fire to clean up the mess. Taking a shallow breath, he steadied himself and waited. For this, there was no aid he could offer.
Jamie concentrated on the small ball of blueish flame that was slowly moving over the areas that had showed signs of the death. In its wake, was a trail of scorched earth. It was a shame to scorch the earth like she was, but her next little trick would fix that, even if it would take some energy out of her. Once she thought she caught every last bit she vanished the fire and turned to Julian. "Did I miss any?"
Julian turned, head tilted to the side inhaling slowly. He moved without saying a word, walking the perimeter. Stopping at one spot he pointed at a still green and wet looking patch of ground. "Right there seems to be it."
Jamie nodded and knelt down using a dimmer, more concentrated amount of the fire in order to not hurt Julian. She gave a faint smile up at Julian, "Now the hard part." Julian moved to kneel on one knee beside her, a hand on her shoulder to stabilize her if she needed it. And then just watched while she placed both hands on the ground and gave a shallow breath out. The air got thicker, and the vampire was glad he didn't need to worry about breathing. Slowly but surely the grass that had been burned to the dirt began to grow filling out the patches so there were no weird holes. It took a while to get the grass full and even with the already existing grass and by the time Jamie was done she gave a breath and leaned into Julian, glad for the support.
Jamie got some of her strength back after a while and gave a deep breath. She placed a kiss to Julian's throat before standing up. Julian followed suit in standing, moving towards the cars. A tug on a belt loop of his pants had him giving Jamie a questioning look.
"There's one more thing that needs to be done, Cher." She gave another tug, jerking him towards her and towards the entrance of the church. At his still lost look she gave a nod to the church. "They need to think he's gone out of town for a few days. If he doesn't come back from that, no one is the wiser he died right here."
"You think of everything, don't you." He remarked as he fell into stride next to the red head and they headed into the church to finish the clean up job.
A while later Julian and Jamie exited the church, content now that everyone in the church thought that the priest had gone to another town to visit a local parish for a bit and having left two days ago. Julian slid behind the wheel of Ailsa's truck and Jamie slide into the drivers seat of her own car. She followed him to Sebastian's house, parking on the street while Julian pulled the truck into the driveway. Jamie walked to meet Julian in the driveway, and handed him an envelope for Ailsa's keys. "We can leave them in the mailbox and call him later." She said quietly.
Julian nodded and placed the envelope in the mailbox and then met Jamie at her car. Looking her over he held out his hand. She gave him the slightest glare but relinquished the keys to him and moved around to the passenger side. She was still gaining her strength back and driving as simple as it was, wasn't that helpful in resting.
The drive back to the church seemed like it was going to be a tense and quiet one. Until Jamie shifted her head lazily to look at Julian and uttered one word. "Why?"
Julian glanced over at Jamie, the wear of her magic use still on her features but slowly fading. "Because you need a rest." He answered, half knowing that it wasn't what she was really asking.
"I wasn't asking that." Jamie gave a half-hearted swat to Julian's arm. "I meant why did Ailsa text you when she needed help?" She watched him while he looked back to the road.
Julian gave a faint shrug. "All I know is she did." He gave a glance and sighed at Jamie's look. "I showed up at Noir the other night and apologized. Told her I'd do whatever I could to prove to her that I was really sorry."
Jamie gave a soft sound and stretched as Julian pulled into the church parking lot. He turned the car off but left keys in the ignition. He turned to her. "I'm following you home to make sure you're good." Jamie opened her mouth to argue but he cut her off with a small motion of his hand. "No excuses." She gave the barest of nods and he got out of the car and into his own while she moved into the driver's seat of her own car.
Pulling into her driveway she notice Julian park his car. She got out and leaned against her car while he made his way to her. "Happy I'm home safe now?" She asked with a raised brow.
Julian gave a tilt of his head, thinking a moment. "I'd be happy if you were safe and I was full, but I'll settle for you being safe for now." He shifted and offered her his arm.
She raised a brow but took his arm, letting him lead her to her door. She let go to unlock and open her door, and then turned to Julian. "Thank you for your help tonight." She watched him give a nod and turn to go. Catching his arm she gave a nod towards inside. "Care for something to drink?" She asked with a raised brow.
Julian moved towards her with a smirk, closing the door behind him. "Does this mean I'm forgiven?"
Jamie gave him a look over her shoulder as she moved upstairs, knowing Julian would be on her heels. "You're working on it." She answered with a return smirk.
