Entry tags:ailsa parker, jamie fuller, julian o'byrne, marianne o'connell, matt wolfe, sebastian lacroix

Who: Ailsa and everyone else that gets the text and comes a’runnin’
When: January 7, around 5pm (I checked, the sun is down)
Where: The parish on the outskirts of town
What: Damage control
Rating: R
Status: Complete
Note: Seriously, the more the merrier. Just jump in. I’ll alter the posting order accordingly.
Posting Order: Ailsa, Bastian, Jamie, Matt, Julian, Marianne

Kneeling next to the bloody and mangled body of the young priest, Ailsa eventually ran out of tears. She didn’t know what to do about it, aside from call the police, but somehow, she couldn’t dial that number. Instead, she sent out a text to anyone that might have been able to help her, hoping that someone, anyone would come.

Her fingers moved over his face, wiping the blood off and onto her already soaked shirt and skirt, and fixing his hair, as if somehow, that would make him spring back to life with nothing worse than a sore throat. She was a murderer. Not in the way Bastian was, but a killer who had no regard for anyone or anything. Though she knew the demon had done it, Ailsa felt responsible. “I’m so sorry,” she whispered, looking down at the man as if he’d been a close friend, not someone she’d met only hours prior. “I’m so, so sorry…”

When the text from Ailsa came in, Bastian was about 15 minutes away, driving and clearing his head. He'd gotten up to find Ailsa gone and the note saying she'd be back later. At that point, he'd had no reason to think anything was wrong, so had decided on an early meal and a bit of a drive around town. Dressed in a pair of worn blue jeans and a black jumper, he'd headed out.

The vibrating phone on the seat beside him however made him worry even before he reached for the phone and flipped it open. His instincts had been right. After sending off a quick reply saying that he'd be there, he reefed on the wheel, turning the car sharply and peeled off down the street.

He'd never actually been to the church, but he remembered vaguely passing it on his way into town when he'd first moved to Mayham. When he found the church, he pulled up cutting the engine and the first thing he saw was Ailsa's truck. Glancing through the windshield he saw her form crouched over another. Getting out of the car, he pocketed his keys and instantly knew something was wrong as soon as the acrid smell of blood reached his nose. "What did you do baby?" he whispered to himself as he headed over.

Matt had been in the process of washing dishes when the text came. His first thought was hesitation, trying to remember all who he had given his number to and prayed that the number wouldn't belong to someone that shared a last name with him. But as he flipped it open, the name calmed his fears for approximately two seconds. Then after reading it, it amped up a few.

He left the dishes in the sink, grabbed his keys and was out the door in a matter of minutes. On the way down to the street, he caught up with his landlord and asked directions before jogging out to the old truck. It started up on the second try and he drove out to where he'd been directed, a quaint little small town church where nothing short of cheery would sound out of place. Matt directed the truck over by the two vehicles and cut the engine, climbing out.

Bastian was already there with her, but from the looks of things, a few more hands might've been needed. He approached tenatively, keys gripped tightly in his right hand. Shit, the little voice whispered in his mind, but it didn't quite reach his lips. He wasn't quite sure what to say.

Marianne had been in the middle of carrying a box upstairs when she had got the text, she had managed to juggle it about until it settled against her hip and her arm and then flipped the text open. At the text, she dropped the box and took off up the stairs. She told Rosie and her cousin to take over until she got back, that she wasn't quite sure when it was going to be.

She started the car up and took off, ignoring everything else. Ailsa needed her, that was what mattered. When she got there, she pulled up beside the three vehicles that were already there and cut the engine, then got out. The first thing that hit her senses was blood and it sent her head for a loop. She took a deep breath and then bent over to try to get clean air. Sure, she was a werewolf, but this was human blood. And she hadn't smelt that for over a century.

She pushed herself to her feet and moved over towards them, her hand settled on Matt's arm once she was close enough to him. Whether for his comfort or hers, who knew? Or maybe it was to jerk the boy back fast enough if something happened, toss him towards the cars or something. She dropped ehr hand away once that thought had hit her brain and stepped cautiously.

Ailsa didn't notice anyone pull up, her head was too fogged with what she'd done to notice the sound of tires on gravel. Instead, she just leaned over the body, apologizing over and over again, looking into the lifeless eyes as if they'd give her some sort of forgiveness.

She was covered in blood, but it didn't matter. The clothes would be burnt, and her hair could be cleaned, but the blood on her hands? She wondered if that would ever go away. Maybe there was some way to wipe her memory when this was all over, to give her some semblance of her life back.

But Ailsa wondered if it would ever be over...

Glancing at everyone else who'd arrived just after he had, Sebastian made the first move towards Ailsa. He ignored the body of the priest in favour of her and reached out gingerly to touch her shoulder, his dark eyes searching out hers.

"Ailsa..sweetheart..you must move away." he said calmly, using his most soothing of voices. "Come on." he urged, gripping her shoulder a little tighter. "Move away baby..it's over..what's done is done. We're here to help." he said calmly, though he was feeling anything but. He'd never actually gotten to feed so the smell was getting to him and it was taking all his will power to not literally dive in.

He'd seen dead bodies before, victims tossed aside after being used to exhaustion. But it never got any better. It never seemed like just a body, there was a name and a life and...Matt swallowed hard, his heart aching in sympathy for Ailsa. Whatever had happened, she had seen it.

Matt jumped when his arm was grabbed, shifting his weight and turning to fall into a defensive stance when he realized it was Mari. He looked at his boss for a moment before turning back around, moving closer to crouch on the opposite side of the body from Bastian and Ailsa. There was no use feeling for a pulse, the priest was most certainly dead.

"He's right," Matt offered quietly. "We'll help, figure something out." He bit his lips, remembering what Ellesandra said and wanting to tell Ailsa it wasn't her fault. It was whatever was posessing her, that they had to get out soon.

Marianne noticed the jump and just ignored it for the time being. She moved around so that she was bent down near Sebastian and Ailsa, her fingers gently brushing Ailsa's hair from her face.

"Hush, little one. Its all right." She whispered. "You're all right." Brigid save them all, they needed to get this demon out of her and soon. Very soon. She wasn't liking this at all.

"I'll handle the body." She mumbled, just low enough that Sebastian would pick up on it. The plus side to being friends with a werewolf was that she knew how to hide a body. What they really needed was someone who could modify memories and make it so that no one recognized or even knew Ailsa had been there in the first place. She ran her hand back through her hair.

Then she looked at Ailsa again. "Its not your fault." She stated calmly, her fingers gently brushing hair from Ailsa's face. "Never your fault, princess. None of this is your fault." She whispered.

Her chest hurt to look at the priest, but there was only so much that she could do now.

Ailsa barely reacted to the kind touches and words from everyone, staring down at the priest blankly. "He was trying to help..." she breathed, tears filling her eyes again, her fingers pushing a lock of bloody hair off his forehead. "He was just blessing me and...oh god..." she moaned, covering her face with her hands and bending over, curling up into a little ball.

Rocking back and forth, Ailsa sobbed, shaking uncontrollably, unable to get up and move away. She'd never move away, not really. Those dead, once beautiful eyes would haunt her forever, and she knew it. "I HATE YOU!" she screamed into her hands, and no one - least of all her - knew if she was talking to the demon, the world, God, or herself.

"Marianne's right. This is not your fault my grace." he said, nodding acknowledgement to Mari concerning the removal of the body. "Make it swift." he said just as softly, then looked at Matt as he shifted a little and reached into his pocket for his keys. He tossed them at Matt. "There's a blanket in the backseat of my car. Get it." he said gruffly as his hand still rested on Ailsa's shoulder.

When she started to shake and then screamed, Bastian's eyes closed. "Enough." he ordered just before scooping her up and getting to his feet with her in his arms. "Fight me little girl and I'll drop you." he warned her, hoping that by being stern he could get through to her at least somewhat.

Jamie had been on her way into work when she'd gotten the text. After texting back, she made a quick u-turn and headed to the church. It was easy for her to find, having lived in the town a while. She drove as fast as she dared to make it through the little town that suddenly felt to big.

Parking the car in an open spot, she shut off the engine and was out of the car in a heart beat. Pocketing the keys, she stopped when she reached Ailsa and Bastian, a mere glance towards the body. "Ailsa..." she murmured, a hand going to gently stroke the girls hair, "It will be alright." The body said what happened more than words, which was why she never asked, never questioned.

Matt caught the keys that Bastian tossed to him and rose to his feet, moving quickly towards the car. When Ailsa screamed, he glanced back over his shoulder at the scene a few feet away. A few more curse words sprang to mind.

The exorcism was going to happen and that demon was going to leave whether it liked it or not. The priest was dead, but there would be others around when Matt made the attempt, to hold her back. Hopefully. He released the breath he didn't know he'd been holding and unlocked the back, having only to search a few moments before finding the blanket.

He unlocked the driver's door and laid the keys on the dashboard for Bastian to find before returning to the body. "It's coming out," he said finally, finding a stronger voice. "The thing is...it'll regret messing with you." Not that he could actually torture the demon, but it wasn't as if exorcism rites were actually pleasent for the demon. He unfolded the blanket to toss over the body.

Julian had been surprised at the text he'd gotten from Ailsa, but it didn't take all that long for him to text her back and jump into his car and head over. It took a but for him to find the place, but find it he did and pulled into an open spot.

Moving towards the the assembled group, his stride faltered a fraction when the scent of all the blood hit him. But only a fraction of a moment and he shifted the scent and the hunger it brought out in him to the back of his mind. He stopped a little behind Jamie, only glancing at the Fae though a look saying ore than some words. And then he looked at Sebastian. "How can I help?"

When the blanket was safely over the body, Marianne bent down and picked it up. She glanced at the newcomer and then she shook her head slightly.

"If any of you are good at modifying memories, do so. The other priests, make sure no one else has seen her and if they have, erase it. Make it so Ailsa has never been here." Her voice was cold, death did this to her. She shifted the body in her grasp and sighed.

"Ailsa, sweetling.." She called softly. "..it isn't your fault. It never was." Then she shifted again and moved towards her car.

She glanced at Matt and gave a gentle smile. Yes, there'd be people holding Ailsa back. Marianne being one of those people if it came down to it. She sighed when she realized she was going to have an issue opening her trunk. "Can someone go hit the button to open my trunk for me?"

Bastian's voice made Ailsa jump a bit, and then she was scooped up in his arms, her own going around his neck. He was actually yelling at her? She couldn't believe it, but it didn't matter. She deserved it, and worse for what she'd done. She was convinced that she could have been stronger, that she could have saved that man the same way she'd avoided hurting Bastian.

She saw his collar on the ground after Marianne picked him up and gaped. "Matt! Get his collar," she begged, her hand groping for it. He did, and once she had it, she didn't know what she was going to do with it. But, for some reason, it was important, so Ailsa held it tight, not caring that she was getting blood all over it.

Looking at Marianne, Ailsa shook her head. "No one saw me," she assured her friend. "And I...he...whatever. There was so much noise, someone would have heard and come running," she said, swallowing back a lump.

Matt ran off to help Marianne and Ailsa buried her face in Sebastian's shoulder, unable to watch the priest be put into a trunk like a bag of rubbish. "I'm sorry. I'm just so sorry..." she muttered shakily.

Bastian meant to take her away. To get her as far away from the body as possible and to keep her safe but her insistence at having that blasted piece of white cloth stayed his movements.

"Julian, you and Jamie should clean up this mess." he said quietly. "Marianne and Matt can take care of the body." he finished. "You two put your differences aside for the time being." he told the other vampire and the fae. "Work together. Your spells might help here Jamie." he said, looking at the pretty fae.

Listening to what Ailsa said, he nodded. "To be on the safe side, do it anyway." he said then looked down at Ailsa when she buried her face in his shoulder.

"It's not your fault baby. You've nothing to be sorry for. IT did this, not you. Never you my grace..never you." he muttered and glanced at the piece of cloth in her hand. He couldn't fathom what she'd want it for, but if it made her feel better, all the more power to her. At this point, anything from keeping her losing her mind and retreating into her mind would help. If a little slip of cloth did that, she could eat it for all he cared. He moved towards his own car and stopped with a groan when he remembered her truck. He crouched and set her on the ground for a moment, and couldn't find her purse. Instead he started patting her down, heard the jingle and reached into her skirt pocket, pulling out her keys. Standing up, he looked towards the others and tossed the keys the distance to Julian. "Bring it to my house." he told him then scooped Ailsa back up and moved towards his car again.

Jamie shifted a look back at Julian briefly when he arrived, but didn't move to shift to include him more. Though Sebastian's comment about putting differences aside had her rising a brow at him. Julian on the other hand just gave a cough at it, a comment there but never about to pass his lips.

Jamie gave the slightest of nods even as she tilted her head, a glitter of something shifting to the ground. To Bastian, Mari, Matt, and Julian it looked the same if a bit like someone had dusted it with glitter. But to Ailsa and the rest of the world, it would look clean and untouched. No sign of anything having happened. It wouldn't clean it, but it would give the impression that there was nothing suspicious going on either while they cleaned.

Julian caught the keys out of reflex. "As soon as we're done here." He confirmed to Sebastian before moving to help Jamie. It wasn't like Ailsa would need it immediately, not being in the condition to drive and all.

She shifted a look at her vampire, "I'll follow you to Sebastian's and bring you back here to pick up your car." She told him quietly while they began to work.

Marianne had the strong wish that Umbra was here at that moment in time. If only so she could sweet talk the dragon into eating the body so there wouldn't be much hiding involved.

She glanced at Matt after dumping the body into the trunk and then sighed. "We need to get some meat...turkey or something. The wolves will eat it if they think that its something like that." She mumbled and got into the car, getting into the car and driving off for the store to get some turkey or something.

This had to end, Ailsa had to get better and that demon had to get out of Ailsa and soon. They couldn't do this agian, or if they did, they might get caught. But there again, people and bodies disappeared all the time. So she might as well just make this priest appear as if he had disappeared and never existed in the first place.

She ran her hand back through her hair after she'd got the turkey and the rope and then headed out into the woods, carrying the body. "Matt? Carry the bags of turkey and the rope..it'll be easier this way."S he muttered.
